Game titles for Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 this week fared better overseas where the console ranked two game titles in Amazon Japan's Video Game division.

Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden Sigma ranks at No. 21 this week and Activision's Call of Duty 3 follows at No. 22 in the latest retail data for the online retailer.

By comparison, Amazon.com's U.S. Computer & Video Games division holds no PS3 game titles in the top 25 sales.

The PS3 moves an average of 8,000 hardware units per week in Japan to rank as the No. 5 best-selling video game hardware.

Sales have been hampered by strong demand for Nintendo Co.'s DS handheld and Wii console, which rank as the top selling video game hardware platforms in weekly sales.

Media Create Co. last week reported that Wii ranked three software titles in the top ten sales in Japan. By comparison, the PS3 did not rank any software titles in the top 50.

In the U.S., PS3 hardware sales reached 82,000 for the month of Apr. to rank as the No. 7-selling hardware in the period.
