Sega of America Inc. on Thurs. announced that it will release the arcade gun game Ghost Squad for Nintendo Co.'s Wii this holiday.

The home version will feature Wii-specific gameplay and modes. In addition, it will utilize the Wii Remote as a multi-purpose tool to target enemies, defuse bombs, and resuce hostages.

"Ghost Squad brings the classic light gun blaster experience that Sega made popular in the arcades to the Wii," said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America, Inc. "With a more robust multiplayer experience than even the arcade version and numerous unlockable items and stages adding replay value, Ghost Squad will be the ultimate shooter experience for the Nintendo Wii console."

Wii is the best-selling home console in the U.S, moving 2.1 million units to date in the U.S. Top game titles include Wii Sports, Wii Play, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
