Electronic Arts Inc. this week announced that it is in development on Boogie, a new IP exclusive to Nintendo Co.'s Wii video game platform.
The music and rhythm-based game will debut worldwide in 2007.
In the game, players star in their own music videos and customize characters to show off dancing and karaoke skills. The game is said to utilize motion-sensitive capabilities of the Wii Remote.
"We’re creating something new and different for gamers of all ages to enjoy; the complete party package where gamers can dance as well as sing," said Alain Tascan, Vice President and General Manager, EA Montreal. "Nintendo’s Wii is an amazing console that really gives us a platform to be creative and to re-think traditional game development."
Boogie is in development at EA Montreal. The division recently developed SSX Blur, an exclusive Wii game title released in Feb.
