Monster Madness to scare PS3, Xbox 360 in Apr.

SouthPeak Interactive on Thurs. announced that the multiplayer action offering Monster Madness: Battle for Suburbia will drop to retail on Apr. 3 for Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 and Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360.

The top-down shooter allows up to four players to battle a monster invasion in a suburban setting.

In addition to a cooperative mode, the game will feature multiplayer online battles for up to 16 players. Weapons wil include Molotov cocktails, grenades, and driving vehicles.

The final game is said to include more than 50 monster enemies and 12 boss monsters. It will also feature unlockable content and competitive split-screen play for up to four.

The PS3 dropped to retail in Nov. 17 and has shipped 1 million units in the U.S. The Xbox 360 debuted in Nov. 2005 and has sold 10.4 million units worldwide.
