Ed McMahon may not be in the building, but new pop rock band Here's Johnny is ready for on-air broadcast. The band's eclectic arrangement of hard guitars and infectious drum beats make it an indie act to watch.
The band consists of Kenli Mattus on vocals and guitar, Matt Amendola on bass, and MTV VJ Damien Fahey on drums. Here's Johnny has recorded several tracks - "No Reason", an intriguing combination of pulsating drum beats and hypnotic guitar riffs; "Grow Up", a gentle introduction of high hat hits that lead into a catchy main course; "Serendipity", a classic rock track as American as a diner on Route 66; and "All Gone", a blues track that wails passionate pleas for love.
Influences for the band include a wide range of acts, like U2, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Conan O'Brien, and of course, Johnny Carson.
The band recently finished an EP and has rocked sold-out shows at New York joints The Canal Room and Stereo. In addition, the band will start their first U.S. tour at select college campuses in the Northeast this fall.
