The 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo Game Card is a standard 4GB flash memory media pre-formatted for the PSP. The card can be used on any device that supports Memory Stick Pro Duo media, including digital cameras, camcorders, and MP3 players.
The PSP's capability as a video player, photo viewer, or MP3 player is limited to the amount of flash memory owners purchase for the handheld. SanDisk's 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo virtually eliminates further need for additional space by packing hard drive size storage into a standard Pro Duo stick. The result is a storage capacity capable enough to satisfy every entertainment component of the PSP.
The 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo allows the PSP to store around 24 hours of video, more than enough for a car ride or plane trip. A 1.5-hour Family Guy flick came out to 250MB, which would mean that we could store a total of sixteen 1.5 hour movies on the card, or eight 3-hour movies.
In addition, the 4GB card transforms the PSP into a full music player at around 1,000 songs, or 64 hours of music encoded at 128kpbs / second.
Finally, photo freaks can gaze away at around 4,000 digital pictures at 3 megapixels per pictures.
Of course, each theoretical amount dedicates the full 4GB of storage to each function. However, eight movies, 250 songs, and 1,000 pictures is still admirable.
SanDisk 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo Game Card carries an MSRP of $219.99. The pricey investment costs more than the PSP handheld itself, however it expands the PSP into a true portable entertainment system from a handheld that fails to excel at any function on limited memory.
