Nintendo this week debuted the Wii Virtual Console at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles.
The new feature allows Wii owners to download and play games from prior Nintendo consoles, Sega Genesis, and Turbo Grafx-16. Several games, including Super Mario 64 were seen to be running via emulation on Wii. The game looked and ran without a hitch at 30 frames per second and textures exact to the Nintendo 64 classic. Virtual Console games will run in various screen formats depending on the title. Super Mario 64 was seen to have a pan and scan look on the widescreen display.
