Nintendo DS reclaims sales over PSP in Japan

The Nintendo DS reclaimed its sales streak over the PSP from Jan. 16-22 in Japan, a report from market data firm Media Create said on Wednesday.
Nintendo's handheld sold 64,515 units vs. Sony's 38,271 units for the week. The week prior the PSP edged out the Nintendo DS by roughly 3,000 units. The Nintendo DS has been scarce at retail in Japan due to its recent surge in sales on titles like Brain Training 2 and Animal Crossing: Wild World. Its dominance on the hardware charts has seen a slide since its sell-out run, however, Nintendo said that it will have replenished Nintendo DS inventory by the end of Jan.
