The item has been seen at several retail locations, including Wal-Mart, and currently ships in 24 hours at online retailers like EBGames.com.

The Giga Pack will be released for a limited time during the holiday season next to the existing $249 Value Pack.

Top titles like Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, and multiplayer fare like SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo will help the PSP sell during the critical holiday season.

Overseas, the Nintendo DS continues to outsell the PSP 3-to-1 on casual games like Nintendogs and Brain Training, titles that have seen steady sales to Japanese consumers.

The PSP has sold more than 2.2 million units in North America to date. Sony expects to double the PSP user install base by the end of the holiday season.
