Best Buy was home to the five dollar Tony Hawk game Sunday morning.

During an internet pricing error, the online division of the #1 electronics retailer priced Tony Hawk's Underground 2 at $4.99. However, the game was only to retail at that price with the purchase of Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, a $49.99 game.

The news spread like wildfire on internet discount sites and consumers were able to factor in promotional Best Buy bucks from McDonald's to make their purchase close to nil.

By the next morning, both the Playstation 2 and GameCube versions of THUG 2 were out of stock, and several customers who ordered the game received an email from Best Buy regarding the unavailability of the product.

The product is now in stock at BestBuy.com for the PS2 and Xbox at a retail price of $19.99.

Internet price mistakes are common in online shopping, but retailers often choose not to honor the mistaken price.

E-tailer Amazon.com pre-sold the popular Nintendo DS game, Nintendogs through Target for $14.99, around 15 dollars below the MSRP. Following the mistake, all pre-orders were cancelled and no sales were honored at the disclosed price.
