Bethesda Softworks LLC this week announced the The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition Free Weekend for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One and the PC

Through Apr. 15, Xbox Live Gold and PC users can download the base game in addition to the Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborne DLC at no cost.

Between Apr. 16 and Apr. 23, Xbox One owners can purchase the full game at 50 percent off. All progress and achievements obtained in the free trial can be transferred to the purchased game.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition includes remastered art and effects, volumetric god rays, dynamic depth of field, and screen-space reflections.

In addition, users can utilize Mods to create new quests, environments, characters, dialogue, armor, and weapons.
