NPD Group. Inc this month said Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the top-selling game hardware in Nov. 2017 at U.S. retail.

Sony price cut the PS4 to $199.99 in Black Friday sales in the month of Nov.

Sony this week released the Playstation 4 System Software Update 5.03.

Software Update 5.03 is said to improve system performance.

Sony this week began holding the Holiday Sale for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and the PS Vita at the Playstation Network division.

The sale discounts select titles by up to 50 percent and up to 60 percent for Playstation Plus members through Dec. 19.

Discounted titles include the Battlefield 1 Premium Pass, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja, Bioshock Infinite and Suikoden II.

Sony this month released the PS4 Pro Comparison Trailer Shadow of the Colossus for the Playstation 4 Pro.

The trailer compares the PS4 Pro version to the PS3 and PS2 SKUs.

Shadow of the Colossus is a remaster of the 2005 PS2 classic.


Bandai Namco America Inc. this week said it will release Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 and the PC Mar. 23, 2018.

The title was scheduled to be sold Nov. 10 then delayed to Jan. 2018. The developer cited additional development time required.

Developed by Level-5, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom includes Evan, the boy king of Ding Dong Dell who is banished from the kingdom after a treacherous coup.

Square Enix Holdings Co. Ltd. and Koei Tecmo Corp. this week released the Character Roster Trailer for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT.

The trailer previews characters and summons from the final game.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is a 3v3 team-based brawler that includes more than 20 Final Fantasy characters and customization from EX skills to skins to weapons.

NPD Group Inc. this week said Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: WWII ranked as the top-selling software in Nov. 2017 at U.S. retail.

The title ranked as the No. 1 software across all platforms for the month.

Developed by Sledgehammer Games, Call of Duty: WWII includes the 1st infantry division as they battle to preserve freedom.

Square Enix Holdings Co. Ltd. this week released Final Fantasy XV Episode: Ignis.

In Final Fantasy XV Episode: Ignis, users control Ignis after the Trials of Leviathan as he saves the city and his comrades from ruin.

It includes music by guest composer Yasunori Mitsuda.

Konami Corp. this week released the Campaign Trailer for Metal Gear Survive for PS4, Xbox One and the PC.

The trailer previews the single-player campaign and the role of the base camp.

Metal Gear Survive is a spin-off episode of Metal Gear Solid V that will include a single-player campaign and co-op multiplayer mode.

NPD Group Inc. this week said EA Inc.’s Star Wars Battlefront II ranked as the No. 2 best-selling software in Nov. 2017 at U.S. retail.


Star Wars Battlefront II includes a single-player campaign and an expanded multiplayer mode that features iconic heroes and villains across all eras.

Nintendo Co. Ltd. this week said the Nintendo Switch hardware has 10 million units at global retail.

The sales figure is since Mar. 2017 and based on the company’s internal sales data.

NPD Group Inc. this week said Super Mario Odyssey for the Nintendo Switch ranked in the top 10 software sales in Nov. 2017 at U.S. retail.

In Nov., Super Mario Odyssey ranked as the No. 6 best-selling software across all platforms.

Hamster, Co. this week released The Last Blade for the Nintendo Switch.

Developed by SNK Corp., The Last Blade is a fighting game released to the Neo Geo in 1997. The title includes and weapons-based combat and is set in Japan’s Edo period.

It sells at $7.99.

Capcom Co. Ltd. this week said it will release Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition for the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and the PC May 2018.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition will include Street Fighter, Street Fighter II, Street Fighter II Champion Edition, Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter III, Street Fighter III 2nd Impact and Street Fighter III Third Strike.

Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Street Fighter III: Third Strike will include online versus functionality including Ranked Matches and global leaderboards.

The final game will include a Museum with concept art, character bios, and a Music Player to revisit classic tracks.

Nintendo this week said it will release Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Ver. 1.1.1 for Nintendo Switch Dec. 22.

Ver. 1.1.1 will include an easy mode for Tiger! Tiger!, X button open Skip Travel screen to current location, 1:1 zoom option for mini map, option to have “those” Blades join the party in second playthrough, option to dispatch Blades like Pyra and Dromarch as a Merc Group, and option to unlock Level 4 Special of a certain Blade.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is an action RPG developed by Monolith Soft.

Nintendo this week said it will release Pokémon Crystal for the Nintendo 3DS to the Nintendo eShop Jan. 26.

Pokémon Crystal is an expanded version of Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver. The title will be compatible with Pokémon Bank to allow users to bring Pokémon from the game to Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.

Finally, users to encounter the Pokémon Celebi after completing the game.

It will be sold at $9.99.
