Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 29,279 units between Sept. 25 to Oct. 1 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.
The hardware sold 23,814 units the week prior.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III ranked as the No. 1 software for the week selling 87,261 units for the week.
Sony this week released free Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and PS Vita titles for Playstation Plus members to the Playstation Network division for Oct. 2017.
PS Plus titles include Infamous: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (PS4), Amnesia: Collection (PS4), Monster Jam Battlegrounds (PS3), Hustle Kings (PS3), Hue (PS Vita) and Skyforce Anniversary (PS Vita).
Sony this week released the Playstation 4 System Software Update 5.00.
Key features from Software Update 5.00 include the Family on Playstation Network to establish adult and child accounts, Custom Lists within Friends, Broadcast feature updates, Messages improvements, Notifications updates, Quick Menu updates, Virtual Surround Sound on PSVR, and New System Language Additions.
Capcom Co. this week said it will release Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition for the Playstation 4 and the PC.
Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will include all Season 1 and Season 2 characters, Arcade Mode, Extra Battle Mode, and New V-Triggers.
It will be sold Jan. 16 at $39.99.
Sony Corp. this month released the Advanced Matchmaking Trailer for Gran Turismo Sport for the Playstation 4.
The trailer previews the Interlagos Circuit including track and vehicle interior footage.
Sony this week said it will release Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition for the Playstation 4 Dec. 5.
Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition will include the base game, The Frozen Wilds DLC and all Digital Deluxe content at $49.99.
Tecmo Koei Corp. this week said it will release Nioh: Complete Edition to the Playstation 4 Nov. 7.
The Complete Edition will include all DLC enhanced graphical modes.
Nioh is a samurai combat action title set in civil war Japan.

It sold 3,707 units the week prior.
Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 7 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 71 units between Sept. 25 to Oct. 1 to rank No. 7 in overall sales.
It sold 76 units the week prior.
Forza Motorsport 7 ranked as the No. 50 software for the week.
Microsoft this week released Forza Motorsport 7 for Xbox One, Xbox One X and the PC.
Forza Motorsport 7 includes more than 700 vehicles, 4K textures at 60 frames-per-second on Xbox One X.
The final game includes more than 30 environments.
It sells at $59.99.
Microsoft this week released the Xbox One S 1TB Minecraft Limited Edition Bundle to U.S. retail.
The bundle, available at Target Corp. stores and Microsoft.com, includes a custom grass block Xbox One S 1TB console, Creeper controller, Minecraft sounds, vertical stand, Minecraft game download, Redstone Pack, and unique skin packs.
It sells at $399.99.
Microsoft this week released Xbox Live Games with Gold for the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 in Oct. 2017.
In Oct., the Xbox One will offer Gone Home: Console Edition Oct. 1st to the 31st and The Turing Test from Oct. 16th to Nov. 15th.
The Xbox One and Xbox 360 will offer Rayman 3 HD from Oct. 1st to the 15th and Medal of Honor: Airborne from Oct. 16th to the 31st.
Microsoft this week released new titles included in the Xbox Game Pass.
New titles include Super Street Fighter IV, State of Decay, Stains Row: Gat Out of Hell, The Bug Butcher, Costume Quest 2, Maldita Castilla EX – Cursed Castle, and Tower of Guns.
Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service to download Xbox One and Xbox 360 titles at $9.99 per month.
Telltale Games this week released Batman: The Enemy Within – The Telltale Series to the Playstation 4 and Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One to U.S. retail.
The retail SKU includes episodes one and grants access to the full season.
It sells at $29.99.
Capcom Co. Ltd. this week released Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen.
Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen includes all content from Dragon’s Dogma in addition to all content from the sequel, including the Bitterblack Isle area, new enemies and quests, and high-level weapons and armor sets.
Finally, it includes new high definition graphics for consoles.
It sells at $29.99.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Nintendo Switch sold 73,231 units between Sept. 25 and Oct. 1 to rank as the No. 1 hardware for the week.
It sold 43,426 units the week prior.
Fire Emblem Warriors ranked as the No. 3 software selling 41,491 units for the week.
Hamster, Co. this week released Metal Slug X the Nintendo Switch.
Developed by SNK Corp., Metal Slug X is a 2D shooter released in 1999. The title, a rearranged version of Metal Slug 2, includes new weapons, boss position changes, and difficulty adjustment.
It sells at $7.99.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 20,321 units between Sept. 25 and Oct. 1 to rank as the No. 3 game hardware for the week.
The hardware sold 19,272 units the week prior.
Fire Emblem Warriors ranked as the No. 6 software selling 18,357 units for the week.
Nintendo this week released Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions for the Nintendo 3DS.
Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions is a renewed classic in which Mario and Luigi journey to the Beanbean Kingdom to save Princess Peach’s voice.
The title includes Minion Quest: The Search for Bowser mode to tell the story from the perspective of Bowser’s minions.
It sells at $39.99.
Nintendo this week released Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaire’s Conspiracy to the Nintendo 3DS.
