Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 3 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 52,939 units between July 31 to Aug. 6 to rank No. 3 in overall hardware sales.
The PS4 Pro sold 9,077 in the same period.
The hardware sold 93,356 units the week prior.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age ranked as the No. 2 software for the week selling 200,798 units for the week.
Sony this week said it will release Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds for the Playstation 4 Nov. 7.
The Frozen Wilds is a DLC expansion that includes a new area to explore, new mysteries and new enemies to conquer.
Bandai Namco America Inc. this week said it will release the Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom Collector’s Edition for the Playstation 4.
The Collector’s Edition SKU will include the Special Sword Set DLC, Exclusive Dragon Sword DLC, Exclusive Steelbook, 3D Papercraft, Music CD Collection, Chibi Mechanical Rotating Diorama, Premium Visual Arts Book, The Making of Ni No Kuni II Blu-Ray, and Lofty Plush at $199.99.
The Premium Edition will include the Special Sword Set DLC, Exclusive Dragon Sword DLC, Exclusive Steelbook, 3D Papercraft, and Music CD Collection at $79.99.
Bethesda Softworks this week said it will release the Fallout 4 Game of the Year Pip-Boy Edition Sept. 26.
The Fallout 4 Game of the Year Pip-Boy Edition will include six add-ons, the latest gameplay additions, graphical enhancements and the option to play Mods on consoles and PC at no cost.
In addition, the product includes the Pip-Boy Replica and Stand, a wearable device that allows users to manage their in-game inventory, perks, and holotapes.
It will sell at $99.99.
Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. this week said it will hold the open beta for Gundam Versus for the Playstation 4 in Sept.
The open beta will be held Sept. 2 12AM PST to Sept. 4. It will include 94 Mobile Suits, all Striker units and online and offline modes. The open beta will be available for pre-load Aug. 29.
Ninja Theory this week released Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice for the Playstation 4 to the Playstation Network.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is a third-person action title that features a Celtic warrior traumatized by a Viking invasion.

Microsoft this week previewed American vehicles to be included in Forza Motorsport 7 for Xbox One, Xbox One X and the PC.
Vehicles include the 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R, 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T, 2017 Chevy Camaro ZL1, and 1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
Forza Motorsport 7, to be sold Oct. 3, will include more than 700 vehicles, 4K textures at 60 frames-per-second on Xbox One X.
EA Inc. this week released the demo for NBA Live 18.
The free demo includes The Rise – the prologue section The One. Progress made in The One in the demo can be transferred to the full game. In addition, the demo will include limited-time Live Events for special rules, rewards, and characters.
The demo is available to Playstation Plus and Xbox Live Gold users.
Capcom Co. Ltd. this week released Mega Man Legacy Collection 2.
Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 includes include Mega Man 7, Mega Man 8, Mega Man 9, and Mega Man 10.
The final game includes an Extra Armor option to reduce damage by half, remixed challenges, and online leaderboards.
Telltale Games this week released Batman: The Enemy Within – The Telltale Series Episode 1.
Batman: The Enemy Within is a new five-part episodic game series Bruce Wayne and Batman will confront The Riddler and Joker.
Capcom Co. Ltd. this week said it will release Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen for the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One Oct. 3.
Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will include all content from Dragon’s Dogma in addition to all content from the sequel, including the Bitterblack Isle area, new enemies and quests, and high-level weapons and armor sets.
Finally, it will include new high definition graphics for consoles.
It will sell at $29.99.
Spotify this week said the Spotify app is now available for the Xbox One.
The application is available in 34 global markets. It allows users to select saved music, search the Spotify catalog or browse pre-curated gaming playlists for background music during gameplay.

Developed by SNK Corp., The King of Fighters 2000 is a fighting game released to the Neo Geo in 2000. The title includes the Active Striker system, game difficulty setting, and high score leaderboards.

Nintendo this week released Capcom Co. Ltd.’s Monster Hunter Stories Demo for the Nintendo 3DS to the Nintendo eShop division.
The free demo allows users to enter the first several hours of the game. All progress, including monsters and items collected, can be transferred to the final game after purchase.
Monster Hunter Stories, to be sold Sept. 9, is an introduction to the RPG franchise that includes turn-based battles, a rock-paper-scissors combat system, monster team customization, side quests, and amiibo functionality.
