Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 29,771 units between July 3 to July 9 to rank No. 1 in overall hardware sales.
The PS4 Pro sold 7,067 in the same period.
The hardware sold 29,194 units the week prior.
Gundam Versus ranked as the No. 1 software for the week selling 121,444.
Sony this week said it will release the Playstation 4 Pro 1TB Destiny 2 Bundle to U.S. retail Sept. 6.
The PS4 1TB Destiny 2 Bundle will include the Glacier White PS4 Pro 1TB SKU, Glacier White Dualshock 4 Controller, Destiny 2, and digital content pack at $449.99.
Sony this week said it will release Gran Turismo Sport for the Playstation 4 Oct. 17.
GT Sport will include Arcade Mode, Campaign Mode, Brand Central, Sport Mode, and Livery Editor.
The final game will include 137 vehicles, 19 locations, and 27 layouts.
Sony this week released Playstation 4 System Software Update 4.72.
Software Update 4.72 is said to improve the quality of system performance.
Square Enix Holdings Co. Ltd. this week released Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age for the Playstation 4.
The title is a high-definition remaster of the classic RPG and will include reconstructed battle design and a revamped job system.
The final game includes The Zodiac Job System, Trial Mode, updated graphics and a newly recorded soundtrack.
Bandai Namco America Inc. this week said it will release Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom for the Playstation 4 and the PC Jan. 19, 2018.
The title was scheduled to be sold Nov. 10. The developer cited additional development time required.
Sega Corp. this week began digital pre-order sales for Yakuza Kiwami for the Playstation 4.
Customers who pre-order the title at the Playstation Store will receive a free Yakuza Kiwami Theme.
Yakuza Kiwami, to be sold Aug. 29, is a remaster of the 2005 Playstation 2 release. The title will include 1080p / 60 frames-per-second graphics, re-recorded Japanese audio and 30 minutes of new cutscenes.
Tecmo Koei Corp. this week said it will release the Defiant Honor DLC for Nioh to the Playstation 4 July 25.
The Defiant Honor DLC includes William in a battle against Sanada Yukimara in Osaka.
The final DLC will include new Guardian Spirits, armor, ninja skills, magic, and a brand new weapon called the Odachi.
SNK Corp. this week said it will release Samurai Shodown V Special to the Playstation 4 and PS Vita.
Samurai Shodown V Special, released in 2004, is an upgraded version of Samurai Shodown V.
The final game will include online multiplayer, Gallery amd trophy support.
Capcom Co. Ltd. this week said it will release Resident Evil Revelations Aug. 31.
The title will include 1080p resolution and all DLC at $19.99.
Resident Evil Revelations introduces the Federal Bioterrorism Commission and the city of Terrogrigia, which was destroyed in a terrorist attack by an organization called Veltro.

It sold 4,403 units the week prior.
Minecraft: PS Vita Edition ranked as the No. 12 software selling 3,368 units for the week.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 72 units between July 3 and July 9 to rank No. 7 in overall sales.
It sold 228 units the week prior.
2K Games this week said it will release XCOM 2: War of the Chosen for the Playstation 4, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One and the PC to U.S. retail.
XCOM 2: War of the Chosen, to be sold Aug. 29, is an expansion to XCOM 2 in which additional resistance factions form to counter the Chosen.
The expansion includes new Hero classes, enemies, missions and environments.
EA Inc. this week said it will release the Open Beta for Star Wars Battlefront II Oct. 6.
The Open Beta, to be held between Oct. 6 and Oct. 9, will include the Galactic Assault on Naboo for 40-player battles and the Multiplayer Starfighter Assault.
Pre-order customers can access the Open Beta Oct. 4.
Annapurna Interactive this week said it will release What Remains of Edith Finch for the Xbox One July 19.
Developed by Giant Sparrow, What Remains of Edith Finch is a mystery game in which Edith explores the Finch House to find out why she’s the sole survivor of her family.
The title will sell at $19.99.
EA Inc. this week released the Gameplay Trailer for NHL 18 for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 and Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One.
The trailer previews gameplay features including creative attack dekes, the defensive skill stick and creative AI.
NHL 18 will include new Creative Attack controls, Defensive Skill Stick, 3-on-3 NHL Threes mode, new Franchise Mode Expansion Draft feature, Ultimate Team Solo Challenges, and Hockey Training Camp.
It will be sold Sept. 15.
Sales for Nintendo Co. Ltd.’s Nintendo Switch hardware ranked No. 2 in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported that the Nintendo Switch sold 26,256 units between July 3 to July 9 to rank as the No. 2 hardware for the week.
It sold 25,805 units the week prior.
ARMS ranked as the No. 3 software selling 12,653 units for the week.
Nintendo this week released ver. 2.0.0 to ARMS for the Nintendo Switch.
Ver. 2.0.0 includes Max Brass, new stage Sky Arena, new VS Mode Hedlok Scramble, new arms Nade, Roaster, and Kablammer, Play Record function, Ranked Mode Updates, Online Play Updates, Character Updates, Stage Updates, improvements and fixes.

Hamster, Co. this week released Fatal Fury Special for the Nintendo Switch.
Released by SNK in 1993, Fatal Fury Special is a powered-up version of Fatal Fury 2 that includes 15 total fighters.
The final game includes high score leaderboards.
