Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 21,346 units between May 29 to June 4 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.

The PS4 Pro sold 5,492 in the same period.

The hardware sold 19,002 units the week prior.

Tekken 7: Fated Retribution ranked as the No. 1 software 58,736 units for the week.

Sony this week released the Playstation 4 1TB Gold hardware to U.S. retail.

The PS4 1TB Gold SKU is a limited edition gold PS4 with 1TB hard drive and gold Dualshock 4 Controller.

Through June 17, the hardware will sell at $249.99, $50 off the $299.99 MSRP.

Sony this week began holding the Days of Play sale for the Playstation 4.

From June 9 to June 17, U.S. retailers will offer discounts on PS4 hardware, games and peripherals.

Discounted items include the new PS4 Gold Slim 1TB SKU at $249.99, PS4 exclusive games at $39.99 each, and PS4 Dualshock Controllers at $39.99 each.

Sony this week released Wipeout Omega Collection for the Playstation 4.

Wipeout Omega Collection includes Wipeout HD, Wipeout HD Fury, and Wipeout 2048.

It includes nine game modes, 26 circuits, 48 ships, eight-player online multiplayer, and all-new soundtrack, and PS4 Pro enhancements.

It sells at $39.99.

Idea Factory International Inc. this week released Dark Rose Valkyrie for the Playstation 4.

Dark Rose Valkyrie is a turn-based RPG in which the user leads an elite military force to fight against the Chimera.

The final game includes customized weapons, customized attack combinations, team attacks, and Overdrive mode.P>

It is sold in physical and digital formats.

Sony this week released free Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and PS Vita titles for Playstation Plus members to the Playstation Network division for June 2017.

PS Plus titles include Killing Floor 2 (PS4), Life is Strange (PS4), Abyss Odyssey (PS3), WRC 5: World Rally Championship (PS3), Neon Chrome (PS Vita) and Spy Chameleon (PS Vita).

Square Enix Holdings Co. Ltd. and Koei Tecmo Corp. this week said it will release Dissidia Final Fantasy NT for the Playstation 4.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is a 3v3 team-based brawler that includes more than 20 Final Fantasy characters from EX skills to skins to weapons.

In each battle, users can gain XP to help customize their character. In addition, users can call summons like Ifrit, Shiva, and Odin to aid in battle.

The final game will include an all-new story by writer Kazushige Nojima.

It will be sold in 2018.

Sony this week released new Disney titles to the Playstation Now service for Playstation 4 and the PC.

New titles include Disney Universe, LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean, Split Second, Disney’s Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, TRON: Evolution, Toy Story Mania!, Monkey Island: Special Edition, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Monkey Island 2: Special Edition, Cars 2: The Video Game, Brave, Cars Race-O-Rama, Phineas and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension, Cars: Mater-National Championship, Bolt, G-Force, Ratatouille.

Sony this week said the Playstation VR has sold more than 1 million units at global retail.

In addition, consumers have purchased 5.25 million Playstation VR game titles.

It sold 4,092 units the week prior.

Minecraft: PS Vita Edition ranked as the No. 22 software selling 1,556 units for the week.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 7 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 167 units between May 29 and June 4 to rank No. 7 in overall sales.

It sold 121 units the week prior.

EA Inc. this week released the Teaser Trailer for NHL 18.

The trailer previews footage from the final game.

NHL 18 will be released this fall.

Capcom Co. Ltd. this week said it will release Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 Aug. 8.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 will include Mega Man 7, Mega Man 8, Mega Man 9, and Mega Man 10.

The final game will include an Extra Armor option to reduce damage by half, remixed challenges, and online leaderboards.

It will sell in retail and digital format at $19.99.

Warner Bros Entertainment Inc. this week released the Story Trailer for Middle-earth: Shadow of War.

The trailer previews Talion and Celebrimor as they utilize the power of the New Ring to forge an army to combat enemies.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War, to be sold Oct 10, is the sequel to Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.

The open-world RPG is said to include robust customization, and dynamic environments and characters shaped by player actions and decisions.

EA Inc. this week said it will sell FIFA 18 Sept. 28.

FIFA 18 will utilize the Frostbite engine and feature Christiano Ronaldo, all-time scorer for Real Madrid C.F.

Customers who pre-order the Ronaldo Edition will receive three days early access, Christiano Ronaldo loan, eight special edition FUT Kits, and $60 worth of Jumbo Premium Gold FIFA Ultimate Team Packs.

Telltale Games this week released Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series – Episode 2.

In Episode 2 – Under Pressure, the Guardians must find out how to control the power of their mysterious new relic.

The five-part episodic series includes Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot in an original adventure.

The Season Pass Disc includes episode one and access to download four additional episodes upon release.

It sells at $29.99.

Telltale Games and Mojang AB this week said it will release Minecraft: Story Mode – Season 2 July 11.

Minecraft: Story Mode – Season 2 is a five-part saga in which Jessie gets his hand stuck in a gauntlet from an ancient underwater temple.

The final game is said to include choice-based options and Crowd Play functionality to allow others to decide story direction from any connected mobile device.

Sales for Nintendo Co. Ltd.’s Nintendo Switch hardware ranked No. 1 in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Nintendo Switch sold 23,524 units between May 29 and June 4 to rank as the No. 1 hardware for the week.

It sold 27,146 units the week prior.

Ultra Street Fighter II: The New Challengers ranked as the No. 10 software selling 4,735 units for the week.

Nintendo this week said it will release Pokkén Tournament DX for the Nintendo Switch Sept. 22.

Developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., Pokkén Tournament DX is an arcade fighting title that includes trademark Pokémon characters in battle.

The title includes more than 20 Pokémon unlocked at the start and Team Battle mode.

The final game is compatible with the Nintendo Switch tabletop mode, TV mode, and handheld mode.

Nintendo this week said it will release the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller Splatoon 2 Edition for the Nintendo Switch July 21.

The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller Splatoon 2 Edition includes custom green and pink grips.

The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller includes the traditional console controller layout, motion controls, HD Rumble, and built-amiibo functionality at $69.99.

Hamster, Co. this week released Shock Trooper 2nd Squad for the Nintendo Switch.

Released by SNK Corp. in 1998, Shock Trooper 2nd Squad is a military action game in which four mercenaries to thwart the ambitions of a massive corporation.

The final game includes branching paths and high score leaderboards.

It sells at $7.99.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 3 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 16,495 units between May 29 to June 4 to rank as the No. 3 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 18,295 units the week prior.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia ranked as the No. 24 software in Japan for the week.

Nintendo this week said Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon for the Nintendo 3DS Nov. 17.

Further details are expected at a later date.

Pokémon Sun and Moon includes a new world, new Pokémon, and new adventures. Starter Pokémon include Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio.

Atlus USA Inc. this week said it will release Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey for the Nintendo 3DS in 2018.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey is a new edition of the 2010 Japan release that will include additional story content and brand new characters.

The final game game will include a demonic sci-fi story, multiple paths, and Japanese voice-overs and English text.

Atlus USA Inc. this week said it will release Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology for the Nintendo 3DS in 2018.

Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology is a retelling of the original turn-based RPG released in 2011. The title will include redesigned character art, new character voice-overs, new opening animation, new theme song, event illustrations, and five new tracks.

The final game will include new story content with a third timeline and new character Nemesia.

Atlus Inc. this week said it will release Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth for the Nintendo 3DS this fall.

Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth is a turn-based RPG that includes party customization, progress mapping, four races, 10 classes and more customization options.

The final game will include a full English voice track.
