The British Academy of Film and Television Arts this month said it will honor Riot Games with a Special Award in Los Angeles.

Riot Games, creators of the BAFTA-winning League of Legends, will be recognized for its creative contribution to the game industry.

Riot Games released League of Legends in 2009.

In 2015, League of Legends received the BAFTA for Persistent Game. It was nominated in 2016 and 2017 for the AMD Esports Audience Award.
