Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 27,954 units between May 1 and May 7 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.

The PS4 Pro sold 6,991 in the same period.

The hardware sold 25,303 units the week prior.

NieR: Automata ranked as the No. 10 software 7,245 units for the week.

Bandai Namco Games America Inc.’s Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades Edition for the Playstation 4 ranked in the top 15 software sales in the latest retail data from Japan.

Between May 1 and May 7, Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades Edition ranked as the No. 13 software selling 6,560 units for the week.

Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades Edition includes the base game and two DLC chapters – Ashes of Ariandel and The Ringed City.

Activision Blizzard Inc. this week said it will release Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles for the Playstation 4 May 16.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles will include eight HD remastered classic Zombies maps from Call of Duty: World at War, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops II playable in Call of Duty: Black Ops III.


Capcom Co. Ltd. this week released Resident Evil Code: Veronica X for the Playstation 4 to the Playstation Network division.

Resident Evil Code: Veronica X, released to the Playstation 2 in 2001, includes Claire Redfield and Chris Redfield in a mission to survive zombies in a research facility in Antarctica.

Capcom Co. Ltd. this week released the Ed Trailer to Street Fighter V for the Playstation 4 and the PC.

The trailer previews Ed, a young commander raised by Balrog and kidnapped to be a replacement body for M. Bison.

The Street Fighter V 2017 Character Pass including six additional characters, including Ed, Kolin, Akuma. Each character includes a Premium Battle Costume and colors 3 to 10 unlocked.

It sells at $29.99.

Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. this week released the Character Trailer for Tekken 7: Fated Retribution to Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4.

The trailer previews favorites and newcomers to the franchise.

Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, currently in development for next-generation hardware, is the next installment in the trademark fighting franchise.

Hamster Corp. this week released SNK Corp.’s The King of Fighters ’95 for the Playstation 4 to the Playstation Network.

The King of Fighters ’95, released to the Neo Geo in 1995, is a 3v3 fighting title that includes Team Edit functionality and an expanded character roster.

Sales for the PS Vita ranked as the No. 4 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this week said the PS Vita sold 7,158 units between May 1 to May 7 to rank as the No. 4 hardware for the week.

It sold 5,994 units the week prior.

Minecraft: PS Vita Edition ranked as the No. 18 software selling 4,051 units for the week.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 7 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 677 units between May 1 and May 7 to rank No. 7 in overall sales.

It sold 101 units the week prior.

EA Inc. this week released Patch 1.06 Mass Effect Andromeda.

Patch 1.06 includes improved cinematic scenes, enhanced performance and stability, reduced lag for players and hosts, and bug fixes.

Microsoft this week released the Hot Wheel DLC for Forza Horizon 3 for the Xbox One May 9.

The Hot Wheels DLC includes a new campaign and brand new location in Australia connected by Hot Wheels tracks.

The final DLC includes 10 new vehicles.

It sells at $6.99.

Mode 7 this week said Tokyo 42 for the Xbox One and the PC will be sold May 31.

Developed by SMAC Games, Tokyo 42 is an isometric action shooter in which an assassin must utilize firearms, melee or stealth to eliminate enemy threats.

Saber Interactive this week released NBA Playgrounds.

The title is a 2-on-2 arcade basketball game that includes 30 NBA teams, single-player mode, local and online multiplayer.

It sells at $19.99.

Sales for Nintendo Co. Ltd.’s Nintendo Switch hardware ranked No. 1 in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Nintendo Switch sold 47,911 units between May 1 and May 7 to rank as the No. 1 hardware for the week.

It sold 76,679 units the week prior.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe ranked as the No. 1 software selling 90,652 units for the week.

Nintendo this week enabled the option for Nintendo Switch owners to save credit card data in the Nintendo eShop.

Under the User Profile settings, users can now save credit card data and require password input before a purchase.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 26,981 units between May 1 to May 7 to rank as the No. 2 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 23,063 units the week prior.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia ranked as the No. 5 software in Japan selling 14,765 units for the week.

Nintendo this week released the Extended TV Cut Trailer for Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia for the Nintendo 3DS.

The trailer previews the cinematic story from the final game.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is a remake of Fire Emblem Gaiden, released to the NES in 1992.

The title will include dual heroes, dungeon crawling, flexible character progression, and updated presentation.
