Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 37,807 units between Feb. 27 to Mar. 5 to rank No. 1 in overall hardware sales.
The sales figure 6,742 PS4 Pro units sold in the same period.
The hardware sold 43,489 units the week prior.
Horizon Zero Dawn ranked as the No. 2 software for the week selling 116,997 units for the week.
Sony this week released Playstation 4 System Software Update 4.50.
Software Update 4.50 includes Playstation 4 Pro Boost Mode to improve performance for legacy titles, and improved 2D images for Playstation VR, Voice Chat for Remote Play.
In addition, it includes PS Messages and Communities app Updates and Off Console Availability to indicate if a player is logged in but away from the system.
Square Enix Holdings Co. Ltd. this week released NieR: Automata for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4.
NieR: Automata is an action RPG in which android soldiers must destroy invaders to take back Earth.
The title is developed by Platinum Games.
Sony this week said Ubisoft Inc.’s For Honor for the Playstation 4 ranked as the top game download in the Playstation Network division in Feb.
For the month, For Honor ranked as the No. 1 PS4 PSN digital download title.
The melee combat title allows users to wage war between Knights, Vikings, or Samurai.
SNK Corp. this week released the Whip DLC Trailer for The King of Fighters XIV for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4.
The trailer previews DLC character Whip, a veteran from prior installments of the franchse.
Sony this week released a new Multi-view option for Playstation Vue.
The Multi-view option allows the user to watch up to three live channels on the same screen.
In Multi-view, the user can watch and listen to a main TV channel and view up to two secondary channels at once.
