Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 28,975 units between Feb. 6 and Feb. 12 to rank No. 1 in overall hardware sales.

The sales figure includes 6,693 PS4 Pro units sold in the same period.

The hardware sold 36,378 units the week prior.

Nioh ranked as the No. 2 software for the week selling 75,477 units for the week.

Sony this month price cut select Playstation 4 bundles to $249.99 in a limited sale.

Through Feb. 25, customers can purchase the Playstation 4 Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Bundle or the Playstation 4 500GB Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Bundle at $249.99.

Each bundle typically sells at $299.99.

Finally, the Playstation 4 Glacier White Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Bundle will sell at $249 in the same period at Walmart stores.

Sony Corp. this week said it will discontinue Playstation Now support for the Playstation 3, PS Vita, and Playstation TV Aug. 15.

In addition, the service will end for 2013-2015 Bravia TV SKUs, Sony Blu-ray disc models, and all Samsung TV models.

The company said the service will continue for the Playstation 4 and the PC.

Capcom Co. Ltd. this week released Banned Footage Vol. 2 for Resident Evil 7 for the PlayStation 4.

Banned Footage Vol. 2 includes 21 to gamble in a deadly game by Lucas Baker, Daughters to see what the Baker family was like pre-Resident Evil 7, and Extra Mode: Jack’s 55th Birthday to race against the clock and feed Jack tons of food. It sells at $14.99.

Sony this week began holding the Free Multiplayer Week for the Playstation 4.

Between Feb. 17 and Feb. 23, customers can access multiplayer online functionality in any PS4 game title without a Playstation Plus subscription.

SNK Corp. this week released Neo Turf Masters for the Playstation 4.

Neo Turf Masters is a golf title released to the Neo Geo in 1996.

The final game includes six golfers, Stroke Play, Match Play and international golf courses.

Sales for the PS Vita ranked as the No. 3 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita 8,479 units between Feb. 6 and Feb. 12 to rank as the No. 3 hardware for the week.

It sold 10,553 units the week prior.

Minecraft: PS Vita Edition ranked as the No. 10 selling 4,578 units for the week.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 112 units between Feb. 6 to Feb. 12 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 111 units the week prior.

Microsoft this week said Project Scorpio, the next hardware in the Xbox One console division, will be sold holiday 2017.

The hardware will include eight cores, 6 TFlop capability, 320GB per second bandwidth, and backwards compatibility to Xbox One games and hardware.

The final hardware will 4K graphics support at 60hz and VR functionality.

Microsoft this week began holding the Multiplayer All-Access event for the Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Through Feb. 19, Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners can play any multiplayer title at no cost via Xbox Live.

In addition, Rocket League and NBA 2K17 are free to download and play in the limited period.

Microsoft this week released Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition for the Xbox One and the PC.

Halo Wars 2: Ultimate Edition includes early access to the title four days prior the release date, Season Pass digital code, and Halo Wars: Definitive Edition digital code.

It sells at $79.99.

Halo Wars 2 is a real-time strategy title based in the Halo universe.

The final game will include 13 campaign missions, multiplayer for up to six, and an all-new Blitz mode.

Ubisoft Inc. this week released For Honor.

The melee combat title allows users to wage war between Knights, Vikings, or Samurai.

Each hero includes distinct skills and weapon set to capture control points and battle enemies in multiplayer mode.

The final game includes solo and four vs. four multiplayer functionality.

Microsoft this week said Forza Horizon 3 for the Xbox One has sold through 2.5 million units.

The sales figure is as of Dec. 2016.

Microsoft this week released the My Bloody Valentine DLC for Dead Rising 4 for the Xbox One and the PC.

The free update includes a holiday-themed outfit pack for Frank West and zombies.

Sumo Digital this week said it will release Snake Pass Mar. 28.

Snake Pass is an action platform title that includes intricate obstacles.

Snake Pass will support PS4 Pro and HDR functionality. In addition, it will support Xbox Play Anywhere to play on both Xbox One and PC at no additional cost. Finally, the Nintendo Switch version will support TV Mode, Handheld Mode, Tabletop Mode, and the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

The final game will include 15 levels across four worlds.

Sales for Nintendo Co. Ltd.’s Wii U hardware ranked fourth in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 543 units between Feb. 6 and Feb. 12 to rank as the No. 4 hardware for the week.

It sold 778 units the week prior.

Minecraft: Wii U Edition ranked as the No. 19 software 2,796 units for the week.

Nintendo this week said it will release an Expansion Pass for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the Nintendo Switch and the Wii U.

The Expansion Pass will include the Expansion Pass Bonus, DLC Pack 1 and DLC Pack 2 at $19.99.

The Expansion Pass Bonus (Mar. 3) will include three new treasure chests; DLC Pack 1 (Summer 2017) will include a new Cave of Trials Challenge, Hard Mode, and Additional Map Feature; and DLC Pack 2 (Holiday 2017) will include a new original story, new dungeon and additional challenges.

Nintendo this week said it will hold a Global Testfire preview for Splatoon 2 for the Nintendo Switch.

The Global Testfire will be held between Mar. 24 and Mar. 26 and allow users to preview the title, including four new weapons, and remixed versions of the Splat Roller and Splat Charger.

Best Buy Co. Inc. this week said it will offer a free Zelda poster at Midnight Store Launch events for the Nintendo Switch.

The double-sided poster features The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Nintendo this week released the Party Trailer for 1-2 Switch for the Nintendo Switch.

The trailer previews a selection of the 28 titles from the final game.

Konami Corp. this week released the Opening Cinematic for the Super Bomberman R for the Nintendo Switch.

The trailer includes the opening cinematic from the final game.

Super Bomberman R will include a full co-op story mode, epic boss battles, and a classic 8-player battle mode.

It will be sold in retail and digital format Mar. 3 at $49.99.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 25,787 units Feb. 6 and Feb. 12 to rank as the No. 2 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 26,101 units the week prior.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 – Professional ranked as the No. 1 software in Japan 122,051 units for the week.

Nintendo this week released Tank Troopers for the Nintendo 3DS to the Nintendo eShop division.

Tank Troopers is a third-person tank battle title that includes more than 30 custom tanks, 30 stages, single-player mode, and multiplayer mode for up to six players.

It sells at $7.99.
