Microsoft Corp. this week said Project Scorpio, the next hardware in the Xbox console division, will be sold holiday 2017.
The hardware will include eight cores, 6 TFlop capability, 320GB per second bandwidth, and backwards compatibility to Xbox One games and hardware.
The final hardware will 4K graphics support at 60hz and VR functionality.
In Q2, Xbox gaming revenue declined three percent due to lower Xbox console pricing and sales volume. Software and services revenue increased 18 percent.
Microsoft in Aug. 2016 began sale of the Xbox One S which is 40 percent smaller than the prior Xbox One and includes 4K Ultra HD video, High Dynamic Range, and a streamlined controller.
