Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 100,238 units between Dec. 19 and Dec. 25 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.
The sales figure includes 10,098 PS4 Pro units sold in the same period.
The hardware sold 79,348 units the week prior.
Final Fantasy XV ranked as the No. 7 software for the week 39,438 units for the week.
The Playstation Network this week began holding the Holiday Sale Week 4 promotion for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and PS Vita.
Discounted titles include Titanfall 2, Battlefield 1, amnd The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition.
The sale is valid through Jan. 2.

This week, the PS4 Pro held a sold out status. It is expected to be restocked Jan. 7, 2017.
The PS4 Pro will include 4K and HDR functionality to improve graphics fidelity. In addition, it will include an 8-core AMD Jaguar CPU, GPU at 4.20 TFLOPS, 8GB GDDR5 RAM, and 1TB hard drive. Current PS4 titles will be forward compatible with the PS4 Pro.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 830 units between Dec. 19 to Dec. 25 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.
It sold 1,872 units the week prior.
In the fourth quarter, the Xbox business declined nine percent between Apr. and June compared to the year prior.
Xbox Live members increased to 49 million, up 33 percent from one year ago.

It sold 5,095 units the week prior.
Minecraft: Wii U Edition ranked as the No. 8 software for the week 32,213 units.
Nintendo this week released Mario Kart 64 to the Wii U Virtual Console division.
Mario Kart 64, released to the Nintendo 64 in 1996, includes 20 courses and a head-to-head four-player mode.
It sells at $9.99.

Nintendo this week began pre-registration for Super Mario Run for Google’s Android OS.
