Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 79,348 units between Dec. 12 and Dec. 18 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.
The sales figure includes 9,317 PS4 Pro units sold in the same period.
The hardware sold 92,717 units the week prior.
Final Fantasy XV ranked as the No. 6 software for the week 44,340 units for the week.
Sony next week will release the Playstation 4 500GB Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Bundle.
The bundle includes the PS4 500GB Slim SKU, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Blu-ray disc, and a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered download voucher at $299.99.
Sony this week released the Gravity Rush 2 Demo for the Playstation 4 to the Playstation Network division.
Gravity Rush 2 is a third-person action title that will include three gravity styles – Normal, Lunar, and Jupiter.
Natsume Atari Co. Ltd. this week released Wild Guns: Reloaded for the Playstation 4.
Wild Guns: Reloaded is a gallery shooter that will include 1-4 player co-op, two new characters, classic and new stages, new boss enemies and special weapons.
The final game includes eight stages with three zones each.
Square Enix Holdings Co. Ltd. this week released the Nier: Automata Demo for the Playstation 4 to the Playstation Network division.
The demo includes short and long range weapon usage in an abandoned factory.
Nier: Automata is an action title that includes melee and ranged attacks against enemies and bosses in an open world.
Sales for the PS Vita ranked as the No. 3 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 36,214 units between Dec. 12 and Dec. 18 to rank as the No. 3 hardware for the week.
It sold 22,314 units the week prior.
Minecraft: PS Vita Edition ranked as the No. 9 selling 20,488 units for the week.
Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 1,872 units between Dec. 12 to Dec. 18 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.
It sold 1,245 units the week prior.
Microsoft this week released the Stocking Stuffer Holiday Pack for Dead Rising 4 for the Xbox One and the PC.
In the Stocking Stuffer Holiday Pack, Frank West is armed with new holiday themed weapons to take down zombies dressed as elves, gingerbread men, reindeers, and snowmen.
It sells at $4.99.
SNK Corp. this week released the Athena KOF ’98 ver. DLC The King of Fighters XIV for the Playstation 4.
The costume is an updated version of the Athena costume from The King of Fighters ’98.
In addition, it will release Patch 1.10, which includes updated graphics and additional content, Jan. 11.
Microsoft this week began offering the Xbox One S at $50 off with the a $30 Bonus in a new holiday promotion.
In the promotion, customers can purchase the Xbox One S at $249, $50 off the MSRP, and receive a $30 bonus gift card.
