Microsoft Corp. this week said the Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs will support Dolby Atmos in 2017.

The Xbox One will be the first console to support Dolby Atmos, which will include games and Blu-ray disc audio with a Dolby Atmos enabled speaker system or soundbar.

In addition, Blu-ray Bitstream pass-through will include Dolby Atmos support for the Xbox One and Xbox One S.

Microsoft in Aug. began sale of the Xbox One S which is 40 percent smaller than the current Xbox One and includes 4K Ultra HD video, High Dynamic Range, and a streamlined controller.
