Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 30,375 units between Oct. 24 and Oct. 30 to rank No. 1 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 27,069 units the week prior.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization ranked as the No. 1 software for the week selling 70,871 units.

Sony this week detailed enhanced titles for the Playstation 4 Pro.

The company said 39 titles will be optimized to support the new hardware, including Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, Driveclub VR, Mafia III, NBA 2K17, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Titanfall 2, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, and Until Dawn: Rush of Blood.

The PS4 Pro, to be sold Nov. 10, will include 4K and HDR functionality to improve graphics fidelity. In addition, it will include an 8-core AMD Jaguar CPU, GPU at 4.20 TFLOPS, 8GB GDDR5 RAM, and 1TB hard drive. Current PS4 titles will be forward compatible with the PS4 Pro.

It will be sold at $399.99.

The Playstation Network this week began holding the Sale of the Dead Week 2 promotion for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and PS Vita.

Discounted titles include Alien: Isolation, Dead Island Definitive Collection, and Silent Hill: Book of Memories.

The sale is valid through Nov. 8.

Sony this week released Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and PS Vita titles for Playstation Plus members to the Playstation Network division for Nov. 2016.

PS Plus titles include Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture (PS4), The Deadly Tower of Monsters (PS4), Dirt 3 (PS3), Costume Quest 2 (PS3), Letter Quest Remastered (PS Vita), and Pumped BMX+ (PS Vita).

Sony this week said it will release an update to Ratchet & Clank for the Playstation 4 Pro.

The update will enable a higher resolution and HDR functionality for PS4 Pro users.

In addition, the update increase image quality for the standard and add HDR functionality for the standard PS4.

Aksys Games this week released BlazBlue: Central Fiction for the Playstation 4 and the Playstation 3.

Developed by Arc System Works, BlazBlue: Central Fiction is a 2D fighting title that includes an all-new story and seven new characters.

The Limited Edition SKU includes the physical game, Deluxe Hard Cover Art Book, Mini Noel Vermillion, and the Nendroid Figure, BlazBlue Song Interlude III Soundtrack.

Square Enix Holdings Co. this week released the Announce Trailer for Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX for the Playstation 4.

The trailer compares the prior version to the remastered SKU.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX includes Kingdom Hearts FINAL MIX, Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX, and Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded.

It will be sold Mar. 28, 2017.

Sales for the PS Vita ranked as the No. 3 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 10,392 units between Oct. 24 and Oct. 30 to rank as the No. 3 hardware for the week.

It sold 8,853 units the week prior.

Minecraft: PS Vita Edition ranked as the No. 18 software selling 4,610 units for the week.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 335 units between Oct. 24 to Oct. 30 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 752 units the week prior.

Microsoft this week released Xbox Live Games with Gold for the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 in Nov. 2016.

In Nov., the Xbox One will offer Super Dungeon Brothers from Nov. 1st to the 30th and Murdered: Soul Suspect from Nov. 16th to Dec. 15th.

The Xbox One and Xbox 360 will offer Monkey Island: SE Nov. 1st to the 15th and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon Nov. 16th to the 30th.

Microsoft this week released new Multiplayer Maps for Gears of War 4 for the Xbox One.

The release includes Gears of War Legacy Maps Checkout and Drydock.

The maps are available now for Season Pass holders and will be introduced into free public playlists Nov. 8.

Mojang AB this week released Battle Map Pack 4 for Minecraft.

Battle Map Pack 4 includes three brand new maps at $2.99.

Activision Blizzard Inc. this week released Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is the latest installment in the first-person shooter franchise.

The final game includes intergalactic warfare and future-based weaponry.

Microsoft this month released the Combo-Ween Trailer for Dead Rising 4 for the Xbox One and the PC.

The trailer previews costume options from the final game.

Dead Rising 4 will include Frank West, the photographer from the first installment of the series, and includes new weapons and vehicles.

Sales for Nintendo Co. Ltd.’s Wii U hardware ranked fourth in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 1,898 units between Oct. 24 and Oct. 30.

It sold 1,919 units the week prior.

Minecraft: Wii U Edition ranked as the No. 17 software for the week selling 4,845 units.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 25,660 units between Oct. 24 and Oct. 30 to rank as the No. 2 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 24,643 units the week prior.

Mario Party Star Rush ranked as the No. 11 software selling 14,177 units for the week.

Nintendo this week said Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King for the Nintendo 3DS will be sold Jan. 20 at U.S. retail.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King is a handheld retelling of the classic RPG that will include two new characters, new story content, more side quests, option to speed up battle animations, new Quick-Save function, and photo capture functionality.

Nintendo this week released Mario Party Star Rush for the Nintendo 3DS.

Mario Party Star Rush allows users to recruit Mushroom Kingdom allies to team up to support the user.

The final game includes multiple boards, boss battles, and multiplayer support for up to four.

Nintendo this week released the A World Beyond Trailer for Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon for the Nintendo 3DS.

The trailer is a live action preview of the title.

The title, to be sold Nov. 18, will include a new world, new Pokémon, and new adventures. Starter Pokémon include Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio.
