Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 27,069 units between Oct. 17 and Oct. 23 to rank No. 1 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 30,154 units the week prior.

Battlefield 1 ranked as the No. 1 software for the week selling 113,081 units.

Sony this week previewed free Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and PS Vita titles for Playstation Plus members to the Playstation Network division for Nov. 2016.

PS Plus titles include Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture (PS4), The Deadly Tower of Monsters (PS4), Dirt 3 (PS3), Costume Quest 2 (PS3), Letter Quest Remastered (PS Vita), and Pumped BMX+ (PS Vita).

The Playstation Network this week began holding the Sale of the Dead promotion for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and PS Vita.

Discounted titles include Dead Rising, Dead Rising 2, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil 6, Outlast, Grim Fandango Remastered, Oxenfree, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, and Silent Hill: Origins.

The sale is valid through Oct. 31.

Sony this week said Playstation Vue is now available for Android TVs.

The service can be used on Android TVs with Android OS 4.4 or higher.

In addition, PC and Mac support will be added in the near future. Support will include a mini-player that can minimize to the corner of the browser window.

Koei Tecmo Corp. this week released Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence – Ascension for the Playstation 4 to U.S. retail.

The strategy title includes Officer Play to experience the life of a Warring States officer, Garden Politics to develop a domain, new Combat Quest system to allow mission to occur in battle, and full-scale Siege Battles and Naval Battles.

It sells at $59.99.

Hamster Corp. this week said it will release Neo Geo arcade titles to the Playstation 4 at the Playstation Network division.

The King of Fighters ’94 will be sold Oct. 27.

Titles to be sold in 2016 include Metal Slug, Samurai Shodown, Alpha Mission II, Fatal Fury, and World Heroes.

Titles to be sold in 2017 include Neo Turf Masters and NAM-1975.

Square Enix Holdings Co. Ltd. this week released World of Final Fantasy for the Playstation 4 and PS Vita.

World of Final Fantasy is a turn-based RPG title that includes an all-new battle system in which users can utilize their captured monsters to fight foes.

The final game includes monster customization options and a large cast of characters from the Final Fantasy franchise.

Capcom Co. Ltd. this week released the Survival Trailer for Resident Evil 7.

The trailer previews the option to combine the Herb and Chemical Fluid to craft First Aid Medicine.

Resident Evil 7 will include a first-person view and trademark survival horror. The title takes place after Resident Evil 6 in a desolate plantation mansion. It utilizes a new proprietary in-house RE Engine that includes VR orientated tools.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 8,853 units between Oct. 17 and Oct. 23 to rank as the No. 3 hardware for the week.

It sold 8,772 units the week prior.

Minecraft: PS Vita Edition ranked as the No. 12 software selling 4,700 units for the week.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 752 units between Oct. 17 to Oct. 23 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 323 units the week prior.

The Battlefield 1 Xbox One SKU ranked as the No. 32 best-selling software for the week.

Microsoft this week previewed Xbox Live Games with Gold for the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 in Nov. 2016.

In Nov., the Xbox One will offer Super Dungeon Brothers from Nov. 1st to the 30th and Murdered: Soul Suspect from Nov. 16th to Dec. 15th.

The Xbox One and Xbox 360 will offer Monkey Island: SE Nov. 1st to the 15th and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon Nov. 16th to the 30th.

EA Inc. this week released Titanfall 2.

Titanfall 2 includes a new single-player campaign, new Titans, deeper Titan abilities, expanded weapons, customization options, and robust progression system.

Microsoft this week said it will add Dolby Atmos support to the Xbox One.

The update, to be released in 2017, will add Dolby Atmos support to the Xbox One and Xbox One S.

Bandai Namco America Inc. this week released Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.

Developed by DIMPS, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, includes enhanced graphics, new character customization options, new features and special upgrades.

The title includes Majin Vegeta in the character roster, new Expert Mission multiplayer mode to allow up to six players to cooperate to battle one NPC boss character, double the quests compared to Dragon Ball Xenoverse, and a new system to control rare item drops.

Sales for Nintendo Co. Ltd.’s Wii U hardware ranked fourth in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 1,919 units between Oct. 17 and Oct. 23.

It sold 2,430 units the week prior.

Paper Mario Color Splash ranked as the No. 7 software for the week selling 7,784 units.

Nintendo this week recorded an operating loss in the second quarter.

The company said it held a $7.7 million operating loss between July and Sept. 2016.

The Nintendo 3DS sold 2.71 million units in the period, an increase of 19 percent from the year prior. The company credited the success of Pokémon GO for increased 3DS demand.

The Wii U sold 560,000 units in the same period. It will ship 800,000 units in the fiscal year.

Nintendo this week said it will ship two million units of the Nintendo Switch by end of fiscal Mar. 2017.

Nintendo this week said it will hold the Nintendo Switch Presentation Jan. 12.

The presentation will include the launch date, price, and games currently in development.

The Nintendo 3DS sold 2.71 million units in the period, an increase of 19 percent from the year prior. The company credited the success of Pokémon GO for increased 3DS demand.
