Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 30,154 units between Oct. 10 and Oct. 16 to rank No. 1 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 31,071 units the week prior.

Playstation VR Worlds ranked as the No. 8 software for the week selling 5,983 units for the week.

The Playstation VR hardware for the Playstation 4 is a solid entry in the VR peripheral market that can relay strong virtual experiences, though game quality can vary due to technical limitations and motion unease in a FINAL Review.

EA Inc. this week released Battlefield 1.

Battlefield 1, set in World War 1, is the latest installment in the first-person shooter franchise.

The final game includes 64-player multiplayer battles, new land, sea, and air combat, in addition to new close-quarter combat options.

Capcom Co. Ltd. this month released the Recorder Trailer for Resident Evil 7.

The trailer previews the use of a recorder to save game data.

Square Enix Holdings Co. Ltd. this week released World of Final Fantasy Demo for the Playstation 4 and PS Vita to the Playstation Network division.

Users who complete the demo will receive the Magitek Armor P item for the full game.

World of Final Fantasy, to be sold Oct. 25, is a turn-based RPG title that will include an all-new battle system in which users can utilize their captured monsters to fight foes.

SNK Playmore Corp. this week released patch ver. 1.03 to The King of Fighters XIV for the Playstation 4.

The King of Fighters XIV includes three vs. three team matches and 50 new and veteran characters.

The final game includes online versus functionality.

Sales for the PS Vita ranked as the No. 3 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 8,772 units between Oct. 10 and Oct. 16 to rank as the No. 3 hardware for the week.

It sold 9,282 units the week prior.

Minecraft: PS Vita Edition ranked as the No. 11 software selling 5,559 units for the week.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 323 units between Oct. 10 to Oct. 16 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 88 units the week prior.

Microsoft this week released the Xbox One S Battlefield 1 Special Edition Bundle to U.S. retail.

The Xbox One S Battlefield 1 Special Edition Bundle 1TB SKU includes the military green Xbox One S, stand, and controller, with the Battlefield 1 Early Enlister Deluxe Edition digital download at $399.

In addition it released the Xbox One S Battlefield 1 Bundle 500GB SKU which includes the standard Xbox One S and Battlefield 1 digital download at $299.

Rockstar Games this week said it will release Red Dead Redemption 2.

The open-world action title is said to be an epic tale in the life of America’s unforgiving heartland.

The final game will include a vast world and a brand new online multiplayer experience.

EA Inc. this week said it will release Star Wars Battlefront Ultimate Edition will be released Oct. 4.

Star Wars Battlefront Ultimate Edition includes the Deluxe Edition, Season Pass and Rogue One DLC at $39.99.

Sales for Nintendo Co. Ltd.’s Wii U hardware ranked fourth in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 2,430 units between Oct. 10 and Oct. 16.

It sold 2,545 units the week prior.

Paper Mario Color Splash ranked as the No. 3 software for the week selling 20,894 units.

Nintendo Co. Ltd. this week announced the Nintendo Switch, a new home console that offers both home and mobile game options.

At home the Nintendo Switch rests in the Nintendo Switch Dock that connects to a standard television. When lifted from the dock the Nintendo Switch becomes a portable handheld device with a high-definition screen.

Portable Joy-Con controllers can attach and detach from the Nintendo Switch. The Joy-Con Grip attaches both sides to the grip to resemble a home console controller. Each Joy-Con includes an analog stick and a four-button array.

Outside the home Joy-Con controllers can be used together for single-player games or can each be used separately for two-player local games. A Nintendo Switch Pro Controller with traditional format analog sticks and buttons will be sold separately.

Game titles will utilize flash memory card storage. Demonstrated titles include The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Mario Kart, Mario, and NBA 2K17.

The hardware will be sold Mar. 2017.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 27,508 units between Oct. 10 and Oct. 16 to rank as the No. 2 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 29,592 units the week prior.

Monster Hunter Stories ranked as the No. 1 software selling 67,133 units for the week.
