Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 31,071 units between Oct. 3 and Oct. 9 to rank No. 1 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 49,652 units the week prior.

BlazBlue: Central Fiction ranked as the No. 2 software for the week selling 20,608 units for the week.

Sony this week released the Playstation VR hardware for the Playstation 4.

Playstation VR hardware utilizes a 5.7-inch OLED display at 1920 x RGB x 980 resolution.

It includes a Cinematic mode that supports PS4 games and videos, Share Play and Live from Playstation.

In addition, users can view 360-degree photos taken from omnidirectional cameras.

The Demo Disc includes 18 titles including Allumette, Battlezone, DriveClub VR, Eve: Valkyrie, Gnog, Harmonix Music VR, Headmaster, Here The Lie, Job Simulator, Playstation VR Worlds, Resident Evil 7 biohazard – Kitchen Teaser, Rez Infinite, Rigs Mechanized Combat League, Thumper, Tumble VR, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, Wayward Sky, and Within.

The Playstation VR Core System sells at $399.

The Playstation VR Launch Bundle includes the Playstation VR headset, PS VR cables, Stereo Headphones, Playstation VR Demo Disc, Playstation Camera, 2 Playstation Move Controllers, and the Playstation VR Worlds disc at $499.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment this week released Batman Arkham VR for the Playstation 4 Playstation VR.

Batman Arkham VR is a first-person adventure title in which users can investigate and battle in an all-new Arkham mystery.

It sells at $19.99.

Sony this week released Driveclub VR for the Playstation 4 Playstation VR.

Driveclub VR includes online virtual reality multiplayer races, single-player career, new and classic tracks, more than 80 vehicles, and Passenger Mode to be a virtual passenger in a replay.

Sony this week released EVE: Valkyrie for the Playstation 4 Playstation VR.

Developed by CCP Games, EVE: Valkyrie is a virtual space combat title that includes character progression, ship customization, and competitive multiplayer action.

Sony this week said Mojang AB’s Minecraft: Playstation 4 Edition for the Playstation 4 ranked in the top 10 downloads in the Playstation Network division in Sept. 2016 data.

In Aug., Minecraft: Playstation 4 Edition ranked as the No. 10 PS4 PSN digital download software for the month.

Capcom Co. Ltd. this week released the Lantern Gameplay Trailer for Resident Evil 7 for Sony Corp.’s PlayStation 4, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One, and the PC.

Sales for the PS Vita ranked as the No. 3 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 9,282 units between Oct. 3 and Oct. 9 to rank as the No. 3 hardware for the week.

It sold 9,357 units the week prior.

Minecraft: PS Vita Edition ranked as the No. 8 software selling 5,714 units for the week.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 88 units between Oct. 3 to Oct. 9 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 121 units the week prior.

In the fourth quarter, the Xbox business declined nine percent between Apr. and June compared to the year prior.

Microsoft this week released Gears of War 4 for the Xbox One.

Gears of War 4 includes a new saga in the franchise and incorporates new characters and a multiplayer component.


Activision Blizzard Inc. this week released the Combat Rig Overview Trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

The trailer previews Combat Rigs, wearable customizable combat weapons systems for the multiplayer component.

Square Enix Co Ltd. this week released Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration.

Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration includes all DLC, all-new Blood Ties chapter, Endurance Mode co-op expansion, Extreme Survivor difficulty, Playstation VR functionality, and special card pack to play as five different Lara character models.

EA Inc. this week released the Single Player Vision Trailer for Titanfall 2.

The trailer previews single-player campaign development.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 2,545 units between Oct. 3 and Oct. 9.

It sold 2,111 units the week prior.

Minecraft: Wii U Edition ranked as the No. 7 software for the week selling 6,810 units.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 29,592 units between Oct. 3 and Oct. 9 to rank as the No. 2 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 27,424 units the week prior.

Monster Hunter Stories ranked as the No. 1 software selling 140,603 units for the week.
