Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 3 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 5,813 units between Aug. 22 and Aug. 28 to rank No. 3 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 17,596 units the week prior.

The King of Fighters XIV ranked as the No. 4 software for the week selling 20,655 units for the week.

Sales for the PS Vita ranked as the No. 2 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Sony this week said Gran Turismo Sport for the Playstation 4 will be sold in 2017.

The title was previously scheduled to be sold Nov. 15.

Developer Polyphony Digital cited additional development time for the delay.

Sony this week released free Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and PS Vita titles for Playstation Plus members to the Playstation Network division for Sept. 2016.

PS Plus titles include Lords of the Fallen (PS4), Journey (PS4, PS3), Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (PS3), Datura (PS3), Badland (PS4, PS3, PS Vita), and Amnesia: Memories (PS Vita).

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment this week released the Behind the Scenes Trailer for Batman Arkham VR for Playstation 4 Playstation VR.

The trailer features development commentary by Rocksteady Studios and in-game gameplay footage.

Batman Arkham VR, to be sold Oct. 13, is a first-person adventure title in which users can investigate and battle in an all-new Arkham mystery.

Sony this week released the Playstation Now service to PC.

Playstation Now is a cloud-based streaming gaming service that will allow users to access a back catalog of Playstation 3 titles on the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, PS Vita, Playstation TV, and the PC.

Bandai Namco Games America Inc. this week said it will release Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization for the Playstation 4 to U.S. retail Nov. 8.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization is the fourth installment in the Sword Art Online action RPG franchise.

SNK Playmore Corp. this week released the Verse Trailer for The King of Fighters XIV for Playstation 4.

The trailer features Verse, the final boss in the title.

Sony this week released the New Devon Multiplayer Map to Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End for the Playstation 4.

New Devon is large map set in an abandoned pirate colony with tight quarters for close-quarters combat.

Sony this week released the Single Player Trailer for RIGS Mechanized Combat League for the Playstation 4 Playstation VR.

The trailer previews the single-player mode from the final game.

RIGS Mechanized Combat League, to be sold Oct. 13, is an action combat title that will include 24 RIGs, online multiplayer functionality and a single-player mode.

Sega Corp. this week released Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X for the Playstation 4 and the PS Vita.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X is a music rhythm title that will include 30 songs, new interaction functionality and a Concert Editor.

The final game includes 300 modules and accessories to produce to custom live concerts.

Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. this week released God Eater 2: Rage Burst for the Playstation 4, PS Vita and the PC.

The final game includes more than 200 Blood Arts for Melee weapons, and Cross Play and Cross Save functionality between the PS4 and PS Vita.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 8,923 units between Aug. 22 and Aug. 28 to rank as the No. 2 hardware for the week.

It sold 10,027 units the week prior.

Minecraft: PS Vita Edition ranked as the No. 17 software selling 5,114 units for the week.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 50 units between Aug. 22 and Aug. 28 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 52 units the week prior.

Microsoft this week released Xbox Live Games with Gold for the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 in Sept. 2016.

In Sept., the Xbox One will offer Earthlock: Festival of Magic from Sept. 1st to the 30th and Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China from Sept. 16th to Oct. 15th.

The Xbox One and Xbox 360 will offer Forza Horizon Sept. 1st to the 15th and Mirror’s Edge Sept. 16th to the 30th.

Microsoft this week said the background music function for Xbox One hardware.

With background music, users can open a select app to select tracks, then navigate to the game title.

Background music apps include Groove – Premium, Pandora, Simple Background Music Player, and VLC.

Microsoft this week said it will add the Halo Warthog to Forza Horizon 3 for the Xbox One and PC.

The 2554 AMG Transport Dynamics M12S Warthog CST will be available to users who have played Halo 5: Guardians or Halo: The Master Chief Collection for Xbox One.

EA Inc. this week released the Open Beta for Battlefield 1.

Users who sign up as a Battlefield Insider and choose their platform before Aug. 21 will be eligible to receive early access to the Open Beta.

Battlefield 1, set in World War 1, is the latest installment in the first-person shooter franchise.

2K Games this week said it will release NBA 2K17 The Prelude Sept. 9.

The Prelude is a download title that allows users to preview the MYCAREER mode prior to launch.

In The Prelude, users can choose from multiple Division I collegiate programs and boost their stock for the NBA Draft.

Finally, The Prelude includes 2KU, a tutorial focused on fundamental basketball strategies.


CD Projekt RED this week released The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition includes Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine expansion packs, all DLC, and all previously released updates.

Sales for Nintendo Co. Ltd.’s Wii U hardware ranked fourth in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 4,519 between Aug. 22 and Aug. 28.

It sold 4,702 units the week prior.

Minecraft: Wii U Edition ranked as the No. 13 software for the week 8,003 units.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Nintendo this week said it will release new The Legend of Zelda amiibo for the Wii U this holiday.

New amiibo include 8-bit Link, Ocarina of Time Link, and the Toon Link and Zelda two-pack from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

The amiibo will be compatible with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 24,459 units between Aug. 22 and Aug. 28 to rank as the No. 2 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 28,807 units the week prior.

Yo-Kai Watch 3: Sushi / Tempura ranked as the No. 1 software selling 32,460 units for the week.

Nintendo this week said it will release Super Mario Maker 3DS for the Nintendo 3DS Dec. 2.

Super Mario Maker 3DS will allow users to custom create Mario courses, share courses via local wireless or StreetPass, and play user created courses in Course World online.

Nintendo Co. Ltd. this week released the Main Modes Trailer for Mario Party Star Rush for the Nintendo 3DS.

The trailer previews modes and mini-games from the final game.

Mario Party Star Rush allows users to recruit Mushroom Kingdom allies to team up to support the user.

The final game will include multiple boards, boss battles, and multiplayer support for up to four.

Nintendo this week released DLC Pack 3 for Hyrule Warriors Legends for the Nintendo 3DS.

DLC Pack 3, Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks Pack, includes Toon Zelda, Sand Wand weapon, 15 new My Fairy costume pieces, Grand Travels Adventure Mode Map, 1 new Adventure Battle, and 2 new Challenge Battles.
