Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 17,433 units between Aug. 8 and Aug. 14 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.
It sold 16,469 units the week prior.
Ratchet & Clank ranked as the No. 3 software for the week selling 27,534 units for the week.
Sony this week previewed System Software Update 4.00 for the Playstation 4.
System Software Update 4.00 is said to include a UI refresh, new Quick Menu, Share Menu, Folders and Library Organization, Trophy Improvements, and updated User Profile.
Sony this week said it will release Driveclub VR for the Playstation 4 Playstation VR in 2016.
Driveclub VR will include online virtual reality multiplayer races, single-player career, new and classic tracks, more than 80 vehicles, and Passenger Mode to be a virtual passenger in a replay.
EA Inc. this week said it will release Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One: X-wing VR Mission to the Playstation VR for the Playstation 4.
Developed by Criterion Games, Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One: X-wing VR Mission is an extension of the base game and will be available at no cost to Star Wars Battlefront owners.
Capcom Co. Ltd. this week released the Lantern Gameplay Trailer for Resident Evil 7.
The trailer includes a new found-footage sequence in which a woman must escape a mansion resident.
Capcom this week previewed the Aug. update for Street Fighter V for the Playstation 4 and the PC.
The Aug. update will include a new Rage Quitting Penalty that will penalize players who disconnect before the match is over. Players who are penalized will lose League Points and be locked out of online matching for a set time.

It sold 45 units the week prior.
Microsoft this week said it will sell the Xbox One S FIFA 17 Bundle Sept. 22 in the U.S., Europe, Austria and New Zealand.
The Xbox One S FIFA 17 Bundle will be sold in 500GB and 1TB SKUs at $299.99 and $349.99, respectively.

It was previously scheduled to be released Sept. 30.
The delay is said to allow the publisher to polish and conduct quality testing for the title. In addition, a patch planned for day one will be included in the final launch release.
Final Fantasy XV is a single-player action RPG to include an open world and action battle system.
The final game will include Chocobo riding, updated battle mechanics, and magic usage.
Sales for Nintendo Co. Ltd.’s Wii U hardware ranked fourth in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 5,593 between Aug. 8 and Aug. 14.
It sold 4,435 units the week prior.
Minecraft: Wii U Edition ranked as the No. 10 software for the week 8,321 units.
The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse will include more than 450 demons to fight, fuse or recruit, new combat partners, revamped Demon Fusion, and classic SMT combat.
Microsoft this week a free update to enable Oculus Rift support for Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition.
Minecraft on Oculus works natively with Windows 10 and includes Creative and Survival Modes, and Multiplayer functionality.
Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition includes eight-player local and online craft functionality, multiple input support, and GameDVR functionality to record and share gameplay.
