Sony Corp. this month said Mojang AB’s Battle Map Packs for Minecraft for the Playstation 3 ranked in the top 10 Add-on downloads at the Playstation Network division in July 2016 data.
In July, Battle Map Pack 1 ranked as the No. 2 PS3 PSN Add-on and Battle Map Pack 2 ranked as the No. 9 PS3 PSN Add-on.
The Battle Mini Game allows users to set up a competitive multiplayer fight for survival with randomly generated resources.
Battle matches support up to four players in split-screen multiplayer and up to eight players online (4 online for PS Vita).
The update is a free download.
It includes a new training mode that guides new users into the crafting process. In addition, a new console-friendly crafting interface allow users to see exactly which materials are needed to craft each item.
In the title, users can craft and build items by chopping world items like trees, rocks, and sand to build an array of tools, fuel, and materials. Tools can be used to craft materials faster, fuel can heat items to form new product or food from the furnace, and materials can be used to build a shelter to keep safe from monsters.
Minecraft includes four-player split-screen local multiplayer and eight player online multiplayer functionality.
