Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 20,021 units between July 18 to July 24 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.
It sold 20,394 units the week prior.
Black Rose Valkyrie ranked as the No. 4 software for the week selling 12,862 units for the week.
Sony this week said the Game and Network Services division, which includes the Playstation business, held an operating income of $427 million in Q1.
The PS4 sold 3.5 million units in the same period.

Sega this week said it will release Yakuza 0 for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 Jan. 24, 2017.
Yakuza 0 is a prequel in the franchise that takes place in 1988. It features characters Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima en route to become Yakuza.
The final game will feature a playable Goro Majima.
NIS America Inc. this week said it will include two anime episodes with the purchase of Psycho Pass: Mandatory Happiness to the Playstation 4 and PS Vita.
Each copy of Psycho Pass: Mandatory Happiness will include codes to download the first two episodes of the Season 1 anime series.
Psycho Pass: Mandatory Happiness, to be sold Sept. 13, is a sci-fi crime adventure title that includes two playable characters, branching storylines, and choice repercussions.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana ranked at No. 2 selling 43,753 units for the week.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 55 units between July 18 to July 24 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.
It sold 63 units the week prior.
Microsoft Corp. this week price cut the Xbox One 500GB SKU to $249 in a summer savings promotion.
Discounted SKUs include the Xbox One 500GB Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Bundle, Quantum Break Bundle and the Name Your Game Bundle.
The sales initiative is valid while supplies last.
U.S. retail this week began pre-order sales for the Xbox One S 500GB SKU and 1TB Bundle SKUs.
