Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 20,715 units between June 20 to June 26 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 20,214 units the week prior.

Umbrella Corps ranked as the No. 8 software for the week selling 9,095 units at launch.

Sony this week previewed free Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and PS Vita titles for Playstation Plus members to the Playstation Network division for May 2016.

PS Plus titles include Saints Row: Gat out of Hell (PS4), Furi (PS4), Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood (PS3), Fat Princess (PS3), Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines (PS Vita), and Prince of Persia: Revelation (PS Vita).

Square Enix Holdings Co. Ltd. this week released Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness for the Playstation 4.

Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is an epic sci-fi RPG that includes real-time battles with up to seven characters.

The final game includes new seven-character simultaneous battles, combo attack functionality, and dual audio options between English and Japanese.

Capcom Co. this week released the Cinematic Story Expansion, Ibuki, and Balrog for Street Fighter V for the Playstation 4 and the PC.

The Story Mode, A Shadow Falls, is a battle between the Shadaloo organization and the World Warriors. The five-chapter story takes place between Street Fighter III and Street Fighter IV.

All DLC characters are playable in Story Mode, including Alex, Guile, Ibuki, Balrog, Urien, and Juri.

It is available at no cost.

The Playstation Network this week began holding the Mid-Year Sale – Week 1 for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, PS Vita and PSP.

Discounted titles include Resident Evil Revelations 2 Deluxe Edition, DOOM, Tales of Xillia 2, and Sword Art Online: Lost Song

The sale is valid through July 5.

Sony this week said it will end Ustream functionality for the Playstation 4 Aug. 1.

The company said it will terminate broadcast gameplay to Ustream viewing Ustream broadcasts from the Live from Playstation division.

Users can continue to stream gameplay to YouTube, Twitch, and dailymotion.

Capcom Co. Ltd. this week released the Resident Evil 5 digital download.

Resident Evil 5 includes all DLC including Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape. A retail SKU will be sold July 12.

It is sold at $19.99.

Sony this week released the Lost Treasure DLC and Patch 1.08 to Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End for the Playstation 4.

Lost Treasures includes the Sunken Ruins Map and new gameplay items.

Patch 1.08 includes the Level System, Ranked Team Deathmatch, Multiplayer Pack 1 of the Triple Pack, and general improvements.

Sales for the PS Vita ranked as the No. 3 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 11,986 units between June 20 to June 26 to rank as the No. 3 hardware for the week.

It sold 11,413 units the week prior.

Minecraft: PS Vita Edition ranked as the No. 12 software selling 6,200 units for the week.

NIS America Inc. this week released Grand Kingdom for the Playstation 4 and PS Vita.

Developed by Spike Chunsoft Co., Ltd., Grand Kingdom is a strategy RPG that includes a 2D lane-based fight system with a real-time Action Gauge.

The final game includes extensive character creation and customization.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 70 units between June 20 to June 26 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 58 units the week prior.

Microsoft this week released the Warzone Firefight content update for Halo 5: Guardians for the Xbox One.

Warzone Firefight is an all-new multiplayer mode in which up to eight players cooperate to complete five rounds of dynamic objectives.

In addition, the content update includes the new Campaign Feature Score Attack, new maps Attack on Sanctum, Prospect and Molten, and new Forge Canvas Tidal.

2K Games this week said it will release Bioshock: The Collection.

Bioshock: The Collection, to be sold Sept. 13, will include all single-player content from Bioshock, Bioshock 2, and Bioshock Infinite, all single-player add-on content, the Columbia’s Finest Pack, and Director’s Commentary.

The final game will be remastered in 1080p resolution.

Microsoft this week released Xbox Live Games with Gold for the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 in July 2016.

In July, the Xbox One will offer The Banner Saga 2 from July 1st to the 31st and Tumblestone from July 16th to Aug. 31st.

The Xbox 360 will offer Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2 July 1st to the 15th and Tron: Evolution July 16th to the 31st.

Microsoft this week said it will hold the Ultimate Game Sale for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 in the Xbox Live division.

Between July 5th and July 11th, more than 250 Xbox and Windows 10 titles will be discounted by 40 to 60 percent.

Discounted titles include Quantum Break, Dark Souls III, DOOM, and backwards compatible titles.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games, The LEGO Group, and Lucasfilm this week released LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The title includes brand new game mechanics to build, battle and fly. In addition, the title will include new story content to provide added insight about the film and characters.

The new Multi-Builds system allows users to choose multiple building options to advance in the game.

Finally, the title features new Blaster Battles and dogfights in the Millennium Falcon.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked fourth in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 4,358 units between June 20 to June 26 to rank at No. 4 in overall sales.

It sold 3,870 units the week prior.

Minecraft: Wii U Edition ranked as the No. 3 software for the week selling 22,589 units at launch.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 22,897 units between June 13 to June 19 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 22,279 units the week prior.

Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns ranked as the No. 1 best-selling software for the week selling 100,319 units at launch.

Capcom Co. Ltd. this week released the Special Demo for Monster Hunter Generations for the Nintendo 3DS to the Nintendo eShop division.

The demo includes three main quests with local or online co-op functionality and a selection of basic tutorials.

Monster Hunter Generations, to be sold July 15, is a new installment of the action RPG series that will include a special collaboration armor set based on Marth from the Fire Emblem series.

Nintendo this week released the Link’s Awakening DLC for Hyrule Warriors Legends for the Nintendo 3DS.

The Link’s Awakening DLC includes Marin, the new Adventure Mode Map Koholint, a new weapon for Linkle and 15 new My Fairy costume pieces.

Aksys Games this week released Zero Time Dilemma for the Nintendo 3DS and Sony Corp.’s PS Vita.

Zero Time Dilemma is a puzzle title that includes fully animated story sections.

The final game includes new and veteran characters, English and Japanese voice over options, and multiple endings.
