Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 24,813 units between May 23 to May 29 to rank No. 1 in overall hardware sales.
It sold 18,430 units the week prior.
Dragon Quest Heroes II: The Twin Kings and Prophecy’s End ranked as the No. 1 software for the week selling 184,820 units.
Sony this week released free Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and PS Vita titles for Playstation Plus members to the Playstation Network division for June 2016.
PS Plus titles include NBA 2K16 (PS4), Gone Home: Console Edition (PS4, PS Vita), Echochrome (PS3), Siren: Blood Curse (PS3), God of War: Chains of Olympus (PS Vita), and Little Deviants (PS Vita).
SNK Playmore Corp. this week released the Team Art of Fighting Trailer for The King of Fighters XIV for the Playstation 4.
The trailer previews the Team Fatal Fury including Robert, Ryo, and Yuri.
Capcom Co. Ltd. this week will release Resident Evil 5 June 28.
Resident Evil 5 will include all DLC including Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape.
Resident Evil 4 will be sold in fall 2016. Retail disc versions will be sold in the U.S.
Each title will be sold at $19.99.
Sony this week released Sharefactory 1.08 for the Playstation 4.
The update includes Track 2 which allows users to add a secondary gameplay video to a project.
In addition, the update includes Chroma-key support to Commentary to allow use of green screen or white screen to the project.
Other new features include 15 new filter effects and two new music tracks.
U.S. retail this week began pre-order sales for Square Enix Holdings Co. Ltd.’s Dragon Quest Builders to the Playstation 4.
The title, to be sold in Oct., is a sandbox action RPG in which users can gather resources and rebuild the world.
The final game will include a story and narrative, in addition to side quests, NPCs, and monsters to battle.
The PS4 SKU will be sold in retail and digital format. The PS Vita SKU will be sold in digital format only.
Capcom Co. Ltd. this week released the Ibuki Trailer for Street Fighter V for the Playstation 4 and PC.
Ibuki is the next DLC character for the title. The character debuted in Street Fighter III: New Generation.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 61 units between May 23 and May 29 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.
It sold 72 units the week prior.
Microsoft this week price cut the Xbox One to under $300 in a new retail initiative.
This week, select Xbox One bundles sell at $299.99, $50 off the $349.99 MSRP.
Microsoft this week released Xbox Live Games with Gold for the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 in June 2016.
In June, the Xbox One will offer Goat Simulator from June 1st to the 30th and The Crew from June 16th to July 15th.
The Xbox One and Xbox 360 will offer Super Meat Boy June 1st to the 15th and XCOM Enemy Unknown June 16th to the 30th.
CD Projekt RED this week released Blood and Wine DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Blood and Wine includes 90 new quests and 30 hours of new adventures.
Activision Blizzard Inc. this week said it will release Skylanders Imaginators to U.S. retail Oct. 16.
Skylanders Imaginators will allow users to customize their character, including appearance, powers, abilities, names, catchphrases, and musical themes.
Skylanders Senseis are all-new heroes that represent 10 battles classes like Knight, Sorcerer and Brawler. Each Sensei will unlock weapons, areas, and Secret Techniques.
The Skylanders Imaginators Starter Pack will include the game, two new Skylanders characters, the Creation Crystal to transport Imaginators to any console, and the Portal of Power at $79.99.
Telltale Games and Mojang AB this week released the Cast Trailer for Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 6 – A Portal to Mystery.
The trailer previews the voice cast including members of the Minecraft community.
The episode will be sold at $4.99 or as part of the Adventure Pass for $14.99.

Splatoon ranked as the No. 13 software for the week 5,225 units for the week.
Nintendo this month released the Hello Kitty and My Melody update to Super Mario Maker for the Wii U.
Users can earn the costume by completing the new Event Course.
