Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 28,578 units between Apr. 25 to May 1 to rank No. 1 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 20,589 units the week prior.

Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2016 ranked as the No. 2 software for the week selling 101,981 units.

EA Inc. this week said it will release Battlefield 1 Oct. 21.

Battlefield 1, set in World War 1, is the latest installment in the first-person shooter franchise.

The final game will include 64-player multiplayer battles, new land, sea, and air combat, in addition to new close-quarter combat options.

The title will be sold in a standard SKU, Early Enlister Deluxe Edition SKU and Exclusive Collector’s Edition SKU.

The Early Enlister Deluxe Edition will include the Red Baron Pack and Laurence of Arabia Pack with themed vehicles, weapons, and items at $79.99.

The Exclusive Collector’s Edition SKU will include the Deluxe Edition Base Game, 14-inch Statue, Steel Book, Cloth Poster, Playing Cards, Exclusive Patch, Premium Packaging and Messenger Pigeon Tube with exclusive DLC content at $219.99.

Sony this week previewed the Multiplayer Roadmap for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End for the Playstation 4.

In Summer 2016, the title will receive new maps, a new game mode, new weapons, new boosters, a new Mystical, Cinema Replay features, 50-plus new skins, and 100-plus new vanity items.

In Autumn 2016, the title will receive co-op functionality, more maps, more weapons, more boosters, a new Mystical, 50-plus new skins, and 100-plus new vanity items.

Finally, in Winter and Spring 2017, the title will receive more weapons, more boosters, more skins, and more vanity items.

Sony this week released free Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and PS Vita titles for Playstation Plus members to the Playstation Network division for May 2016.

PS Plus titles include Top Table Racing: World Tour (PS4), Switch Galaxy Ultra (PS4, PS Vita), Tropico 5 (PS4), Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 (PS3), LocoRoco Cocoreccho! (PS3), God of War: Ghost of Sparta (PS Vita), Reality Fighters (PS Vita).

SNK Playmore Corp. this week released The King of Fighters 2000 for the Playstation 4 to the Playstation Network division.

The 2D fighting title, released to the Neo Geo in 2000, introduced K’, Maxima, and Vanessa to the tournament.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 100 units between Apr. 25 and May 1 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 101 units the week prior.

Activision Blizzard Inc. this week said Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be released Nov. 4.

The trailer features large-scale warfare against the Settlement Defense Front.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is the next installment in the first-person shooter franchise.

The title will include new space flight battles.

Customers who pre-order the Legacy Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition will receive Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered which includes updated graphics, sound and 10 multiplayer maps.

Microsoft this week began holding the Microsoft Studios Publisher Sale for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 at the Xbox Live division.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked fourth in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 10,020 units between Apr. 25 and May 1 to rank at No. 4 in overall sales.

It sold 5,968 units the week prior.

Star Fox Zero ranked as the No. 14 software for the week 7,694 units for the week.

Nintendo this week said The Legend of Zelda for Wii U will be previewed at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in June.

It will be the only title showcased by the company at the annual trade show.

In addition, Nintendo will hold a Nintendo Treehouse: Live to preview livestreamed gameplay from The Legend of Zelda from the E3 show floor.

The hardware sold 18,261 units the week prior.

Kirby: Planet Robobot ranked as the No. 1 best-selling software for the week selling 144,846 units for the week.

Nintendo this week released Pocket Card Jockey for the Nintendo 3DS to the Nintendo eShop division.

In the title, users play Solitaire to clear cards and energize their race horse to victory.

The final game allows user to retire their horse and pair them with other retired horses to breed ponies that can mature into new race horses.

Microsoft this week released the open beta for Forza Motorsport 6: Apex to Windows 10 PC.

Developed by Turn 10 Studios, Forza Motorsport 6: Apex will include a new 12-event Showcase Tour, a new objective and scoring system and new Spotlight series to feature new Showcase-style events.

The final game will include 63 Forzavista cars and 20 track configurations with night and weather variants.

It will be available at no cost.
