Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 34,377 units between Mar. 21 to Mar. 27 to rank No. 1 in overall hardware sales.
It sold 28,370 units the week prior.
Dark Souls III ranked as the No. 2 software for the week selling 210,141 units at launch.
Sony this week began pre-order sales for the Playstation VR Core Bundle.
The Playstation VR Core Headset will include the Playstaton VR headset, PS VR cables, Stereo Headphones and Demo Disc at $399.
The Playstation VR Launch Bundle includes the Playstation VR headset, PS VR cables, Stereo Headphones, Playstation VR Demo Disc, Playstation Camera, 2 Playstation Move Controllers, and the Playstation VR Worlds disc at $499.
The Playstation VR peripheral will be sold in Oct. at $399.
Playstation VR hardware will utilize a 5.7-inch OLED display at 1920 x RGB x 980 resolution.
Sony will release a new and enhanced Playstation system in a new report by The Wall Street Journal.
The report claims the system will be announced this year and will include more powerful hardware to relay ultra-high-definition graphics and added power for the Playstation VR.
Square Enix Holdings Co. this week said it will release Final Fantasy XV Sept. 30th.
Final Fantasy XV is a single-player action RPG to include an open world and action battle system.
The final game will include Chocobo riding, updated battle mechanics, and magic usage.
The title will be sold in a Day One Edition, Deluxe Edition which includes the game and Kingsglaive movie, and Ultimate Collector’s Edition with game, Kingsglaive movie, Hardcover Art Book, Soundtrack, Exclusive Play Arts Kai Noctis, Bonus Content, and In-Game Item Packs.
Sony this week released the In The End Trailer Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End for the Playstation 4.
The trailer features the conclusion of development for the title.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, to be sold May 10, includes Nathan Drake and Sully in a treasure hunt around the globe.
Sony this week previewed free Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and PS Vita titles for Playstation Plus members to the Playstation Network division for Apr. 2016.
PS Plus titles include Dead Star (PS4), Zombi (PS4), Savage Moon (PS3), I Am Alive (PS3), A Virus Named Tom (PS Vita), Shutshimi (PS Vita).
Sony this week released MLB The Show 16 for the Playstation 4 and Playstation 3.
MLB The Show 16 includes gameplay improvements, new game modes, new personalization options.
Activision Blizzard Inc. this week said it will release the Eclipse DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops III for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 Apr. 19.
The Eclipse DLC Map Pack will include four new multiplayer maps, including the Call of Duty: World at War map Banzai.
In addition, the DLC will include the next chapter in Zombies mode, Zetsubou No Shima.
It will sell at $14.99.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 20,068 units between Mar. 21 and Mar. 27 to rank as the No. 3 hardware for the week.
It sold 19,028 units the week prior.
Dead or Alive Extreme 3: Venus ranked as the No. 6 software selling 21,959 units for the week at launch.
Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 55 units between Mar. 21 and Mar. 27 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.
It sold 91 units the week prior.
Microsoft this week previewed Xbox Live Games with Gold for the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 in Apr. 2016.
In Apr., the Xbox One will offer The Wolf Among Us from Apr. 1st to the 30th and Sunset Overdrive from Apr. 16th to May 15th.
The Xbox 360 will offer Dead Space Apr. 1st to the 15th and Saints Row IV Apr. 16th to the 31st.
Bethesda Softworks this week released the Fight Like Hell Trailer for DOOM.
The trailer is a live-action cinematic trailer directed by Joe Kosinski.
DOOM will include a single-player campaign and a new mode called Doom Snapmap to allow users to build and customize co-op and point-based game modes in custom maps. The maps can subsequently be shared instantly with the DOOM community.
Telltale Games and Mojang AB this week released Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 5 – Order Up!.
Post-season episodes 6, 7 and 8 will be released in 2016.

Pokkén Tournament ranked as the No. 5 software for the week selling 28,331 units for the week.
The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 ranked as the No. 1 best-selling software for the week selling 368,665 units for the week.
Nintendo this week released the mobile game Miitomo.
Miitomo allows users to design their own avatars and is said to encourage people to share things about themselves.
The company said the application has held three million downloads since launch.
