Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 27,341 units between Mar. 7 to Mar. 13 to rank No. 1 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 28,863 units the week prior.

Tom Clancy’s The Division ranked as the No. 1 software for the week selling 80,703 for the week at launch.

Sony this week said the Playstation 4 Playstation VR peripheral will be sold in Oct. at $399.

Playstation VR hardware will utilize a 5.7-inch OLED display at 1920 x RGB x 980 resolution.

It will include a Cinematic mode that supports PS4 games and videos, Share Play and Live from Playstation.

In addition, users can view 360-degree photos taken from omnidirectional cameras.

More than 160 titles are in development for the hardware including Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, Star Wars: Battlefront, Rez Infinite, and Eagle Flight.

Sony this week said it will sell the Playstation VR Launch Bundle will sell at $499.

The bundle will include the Playstation VR headset, PS VR cables, Stereo Headphones, Playstation VR Demo Disc, Playstation Camera, 2 Playstation Move Controllers, and the Playstation VR Worlds disc at $499.

Pre-order sales will begin Mar. 22.

Sony this week previewed Playstation VR Worlds for the Playstation 4.

Playstation VR Worlds will include five games including The London Heist, Into The Deep, VR Luge, Danger Ball, and Scavenger’s Odyssey.

It will be sold this year.

Sony this week released the Campaign Reveal Trailer for Battlezone for the Playstation VR Playstation 4 peripheral.

The trailer previews the campaign from the final game.

Battlezone is a first-person cockpit shooter title in devlopement for Playstation VR.

The final game will include a precedurally generated campaign map.

Sony this week previewed Tumble for the Playstation VR for the Playstation 4.

Tumble is a puzzle title in which users test their physical dexterity and mental skills.

The final game will include cooperative and competitive modes that will utilize the Playstation VR Social Screen feature to allow a second player to play without a headset.

SNK Playmore Corp. this week released the 8th Teaser Trailer for The King of Fighters XIV for the Playstation 4.

The trailer previews Vice, Kim, and Sylvie Paula Paula.

The King of Fighters XIV will include three vs. three team matches and 50 new and veteran characters.

The final game will include online versus functionality.

Sony this week said Playstation Vue, a cloud-based TV service for the Playstation 4 and Playstation 3, is now available nationwide.

ESPN, ABC-owned local stations, Disney Channel, ABC Family, and more is now available on-demand.

Playstation Vue includes around 75 channels per market from national programmers and local broadcast station.

Sales for the PS Vita ranked as the No. 3 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 20,810 units between Mar. 7 and Mar. 13 to rank as the No. 3 hardware for the week.

It sold 29,937 units the week prior.

Minecraft: PS Vita Edition ranked as the No. 11 software selling 8,460 units for the week at launch.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 77 units between Mar. 7 and Mar. 13 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 490 units the week prior.

Microsoft this week price cut the Xbox One to $299 in a new spring sale initiative.

For a limited time, the company is discounting all Xbox One consoles by $50.

The Xbox One 500GB Name Your Game Bundle, which includes the Xbox One 500GB hardware and a full game download of either Forza Motorsport 6, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, or Rare Replay, and Xbox One Wireless Controller, now sells at $299.

Microsoft this week said it will allow cross-network play via Xbox Live to enable users to play with players on different online multiplayer networks.

The company said it will allow game developers to support the feature.

The game title Rocket League will the first title to enable cross-network play between Xbox Live and PC players.

Microsoft this week released Shadow Complex Remastered for the Xbox One.

The 2D side-scrolling action title includes updated graphics, additional Achievements, and Master Challenges.

The final game includes all-new dynamic takedowns.

It sells at $14.99.

Microsoft this week said it will release new Xbox One Wireless Controllers to U.S. retail.

The Dusk Shadow and Copper Shadow Wireless Controllers feature a faded color gradient finish.

The Copper Shadow Wireless Controller will be sold at Microsoft Stores and GameStop Corp. stores. The Dusk Shadow Wireless Controller at Microsoft Stores and Best Buy Co. Inc. stores.

Each will sell at $69.99 in late Mar. to Apr.

Microsoft this week said it will release the Multiplayer Beta for Gears of War 4 for the Xbox One in Apr.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition owners will receive early access to the Multiplayer Beta Apr. 18 to Apr. 24.

All Xbox Live Gold members will receive access Apr. 25 to May 1.

Activision Blizzard Inc. this week released the Gameplay Trailer Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan to Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4, Playstation 3, PS Vita, Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One, Xbox 360, and the PC.

The trailer features gameplay action from the final game.

Developed by Platinum Games, the action title will include online four-player co-op functionality and feature trademark characters like foot soldiers, Bebop, Rocksteady and Shredder.

The final game will include custom combat and team combos.

It will be sold May 24.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked fourth in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 4,629 units between Mar. 7 and Mar. 13 to rank at No. 4 in overall sales.

It sold 7,260 units the week prior.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD ranked as the No. 2 software for the week selling 52,282 units at launch.

Nintendo this week released Pokkén Tournament for the Wii U.

Developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., Pokkén Tournament is an arcade fighting title that includes trademark Pokemon characters in battle.

First-run copies include the special Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card which can be tapped to the Wii U GamePad to unlock Shadow Mewtwo as a playable character.

It sells at $59.99.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 26,545 units between Mar. 7 and Mar. 13 to rank as the No. 2 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 28,355 units the week prior.

Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games ranked as the No. 8 best-selling software for the selling 13,408 units for the week.

Nintendo this week released Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games for the Nintendo 3DS.

Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games includes 14 events, Mii integration and amiibo functionality.

The final game includes BMX Racing, Beach Volleyball and Soccer.

It sells at $39.99.

Nintendo this week released Map Pack 1 DLC for Fire Emblem Fates for the Nintendo 3DS.

Map Pack 1 includes 11 bonus maps and bonus content released weekly through Apr. 21.

It sells at $17.99.
