Mojang AB this week released the Minecraft Combat Update 1.9 for the PC.

The update includes updated combat mechanics and new map-making options. New changes include added shields, swords sweep attack, added chorus plants, new Purpur blocks, added grass path block, added tipped arrows, and fixed issues.

MinecraftMinecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta includes eight-player local and online craft functionality, multiple input support, and GameDVR functionality to record and share gameplay.

The final game includes cross-platform multiplayer for up to five players on a local network between Minecraft: Pocket Edition and Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta, in addition to five player online functionality to the Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta via Xbox Live.

Minecraft PC owners can download the Windows 10 Edition Beta at no cost.
