Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 25,592 units between Jan. 11 to Jan. 17 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 36,559 units the week prior.

The Odin Sphere Leifthrasir PS4 SKU ranked as the No. 2 best-selling software for the week, selling 42,263 at launch.

Capcom Co. this week released Resident Evil Origins to U.S. retail.

Resident Evil Origins includes Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil HD remaster SKUs at $39.99.

The digital download title is available now at the Playstation Network, Xbox Live, and Steam at $19.99.

Resident Evil Zero was released to the Nintendo GameCube in 2002. It includes S.T.A.R.S. member Rebecca Chambers and convict Billy Coen and introduced a partner zapping system to switch between both characters.

Resident Evil Zero director Koji Oda and additional staff returned to develop the new remastered version.

Sony this week said Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: Black Ops III for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the top-selling download title in the Playstation Network division in 2015.

In 2015, Call of Duty: Black Ops III ranked as the No. 1 PS4 PSN digital download title for the full year.

Wargaming.net this week released World of Tanks the Playstation 4 to the Playstation Network division.

World of Tanks is a free-to-play multiplayer title that includes 15 vs. 15 online battles, three nations, more than 130 tanks, and a store to purchase premium tanks.

The final game does not require Playstation Plus membership for online play.

Sales for the PS Vita ranked as the No. 3 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 18,202 units between Jan. 11 and Jan. 17 to rank as the No. 3 hardware for the week.

It sold 31,338 units the week prior.

Minecraft: PS Vita Edition ranked as the No. 9 software for the week selling 13,182 units.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 99 units between Jan. 11 and Jan. 17 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 293 units the week prior.

Microsoft this month said it will sell the Xbox One 1TB Tom Clancy’s The Division Bundle at U.S. retail Mar. 8.

The Xbox One 1TB Tom Clancy’s The Division Bundle will include the will include the Xbox One 1TB hardware, Tom Clancy’s The Division game download, and Xbox One Wireless Controller at $399.99.

The Xbox One 1TB Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Bundle includes the Xbox One 1TB hardware, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, full game downloads of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Xbox One Wireless Controller and Xbox One Chat Headset at $399.99.

Microsoft this week said it will release a new update to Xbox One Preview users that include features to be added to the Xbox One Dashboard.

New features include the option to view users in a Party before joining, Gamerscore Leaderboard, option to rearrange Pins on Home and access them offline, Activity Feed updates, joinable Twitch broadcasts, and improvements to Suggested Friends.

Microsoft this week said Xbox 360 backwards compatible titles for the Xbox One will be released when they are available once each title has received engineering and publishing approval.

Previously, the company released a catalog of backward compatible titles in a monthly launch.

New backward compatible titles available this week include The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, Sam & Max Save The World, Aegis Wing, Counter-Strike: GO, Age of Booty, Space Giraffe, Soulcalibur, Skullgirls, Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad, and Small Arms.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked fourth in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 15,398 units between Jan. 11 and Jan. 17 to rank at No. 4 in overall sales.

It sold 24,722 units the week prior.

Splatoon ranked as the No. 6 best-selling software for the week. It has sold 1.18 million copies in the region.

Nintendo this week said the The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD for the Wii U will include an amiibo that unlocks a new dungeon in the title.

The Wolf Link amiibo, included in the retail SKU, will unlock the Cave of Shadows, a new bonus dungeon. When the dungeon is completed, users can save their hearts to the amiibo and use their hearts in the Cave of Shadows to replenish life energy.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, to be sold Mar. 4, is a remastered remake of the title previously released for the Wii and GameCube in 2006.

Nintendo this week said it will release Pokkén Tournament for the Wii U to U.S. retail Mar. 18.

Developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., Pokkén Tournament is an arcade fighting title that will include trademark Pokemon characters in battle.

First-run copies will include the special Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card which can be tapped to the Wii U GamePad to unlock Shadow Mewtwo as a playable character.

Nintendo this week said Star Fox Zero for the Wii U will include amiibo functionality.

The company said more details will be released in the future.


Star Fox Zero, to be sold Apr. 22, will include trademark franchise flight combat action.

The title will include Wii U GamePad functionality that utilizes the gyroscope to view around the cockpit and second screen function to shoot in first-person.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 42,372 units between Jan. 11 and Jan. 17 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 60,479 units the week prior.

Capcom Co.’s Monster Hunter X ranked as the No. 3 software for the week. It has sold 2.62 million copies in the region to date.
