Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 4 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 60,330 units between Dec. 21 to Dec. 27 to rank No. 4 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 46,749 units the week prior.

Fallout 4 ranked as the No. 12 best-selling software for the week.

Sony this week previewed Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and PS Vita titles to be released in Jan. for Playstation Plus members to the Playstation Network division.

PS Plus titles include Grim Fandango Remastered (PS4, PS Vita), Hardware: Rivals (PS4), Dragon Age: Origins (PS3), Medal of Honor Warfighter (PS3), Legends of War Patton (PS Vita), and Nihilumbra (PS Vita).

Sony this week began holding the Holiday Sale Week 4 promotion for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and PS Vita at the Playstation Network division.

The sale discounts titles up to 75 percent off and up to 80 percent off for Playstation Plus members.

Activision Blizzard Inc. this week said the Iron Banner returned this week to Destiny: The Taken King for the Playstation 4 and the Playstation 3.

The Iron Banner event offers additional items from Lord Saladin and champions of the event have the chance to win an exclusive gear set.

Bandai Namco Games America Inc. this week said it will release Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth for the Playstation 4 Feb. 2.

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is a turn-based RPG that includes more than 200 Digimon, the option to scan, raise and train Digimon, and real and digital worlds.

Pre-order customers will receive bonus DLC including the Agumon “Taichi Yagami” Costume, Agumon “Hero” Costumes, Useful Item Set, and Blackagumon/Blackgabumon.

Bandai Namco Games America Inc. this month said it will release Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 to U.S. retail.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, to be sold in 2016, is the fourth installment in the Sword Art Online action RPG franchise.

In the title, users take the role of Kirito in a new VRMMORPG called Sword Art: Origin.

Sales for the PS Vita ranked as the No. 4 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

It sold 46,182 units the week prior.

Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs-Force ranked as the No. 6 software for the week selling 87,000 units.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 479 units between Dec. 21 and Dec. 27 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 512 units the week prior.

Microsoft this week began offering a $10 bonus with the purchase of select titles for the Xbox One at the Microsoft Store.

This week, customers who purchase select Xbox One titles at the Microsoft Store will receive a $10 Gift Code towards a future purchase.

Ubisoft Inc. this week said the user experience for Rainbow Six Siege was degraded due to server stress during the holiday period.

The publisher disclaimed that new players stressed servers and matchmaking functionality. It will release patch updates to improve connectivity and matchmaking.

Rainbow Six Siege includes tactical environmental destruction, hostage situations, breach and stronghold tactics.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked second in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 101,122 units between Dec. 21 and Dec. 27 to rank at No. 2 in overall sales.

It sold 80,301 units the week prior.

Super Mario Maker ranked as the No. 4 best-selling software for the week.

Nintendo this week released 1080° Snowboarding for the Nintendo 64 to the Wii U Virtual Console division.

1080° Snowboarding features five characters with unique attributes and special tricks.

The final game includes two-player alternating support.

It sells at $9.99.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 160,447 units between Dec. 21 and Dec. 27 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 147,688 units the week prior.

Capcom Co.’s Monster Hunter X ranked as the No. 1 software for the week. It has sold 2.39 million copies in the region to date.

Square Enix Holdings Co. this week said it will release Final Fantasy IX to the PC, iPhone, Android in Japan in 2016.

Final Fantasy IX was released to Sony Corp.’s Playstation in 2000.

The title includes Active Time Event to view short optional scenarios taking place at the same time in a different part of the world.

Square Enix Co Ltd.’s Rise of the Tomb Raider for the PC will be sold in Jan.

It was released for the Xbox One in Nov. The PS4 SKU will be sold holiday 2016.
