Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 3 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 38,497 units between Dec. 7 to Dec. 13 to rank No. 3 in overall hardware sales.
It sold 35,782 units the week prior.
Rainbow Six Siege ranked as the No. 11 best-selling software for the week selling 23,402 units at launch.
Sony this week said it will sell the Playstation 4 500GB Call of Duty: Black Ops III Bundle at U.S. retail.
The bundle will include the PS4 500GB console, Dualshock 4 controller, a copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops III, and bonus NUK3TOWN multiplayer map at $349.99.
Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. this week said it has entered in an agreement with Kojima Productions to develop a console exclusive software title for the Playstation 4.
Kojima Productions is a newly formed studio by Hideo Kojima.
The new title will be a brand new project said to become a franchise.
Activision Blizzard Inc. this week released the Black Market Content for Call of Duty: Black Ops III.
Black Market Content includes three new melee weapons, 12 new gestures and taunts, and 18 new specialist themes.
Sony this week began holding the Holiday Sale Week 2 promotion for the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, and PS Vita at the Playstation Network division.
The sale discounts titles up to 75 percent off and up to 80 percent off for Playstation Plus members.
Discounted titles include Star Wars Battlefront, The Crew, The Last of Us, and Metal Slug 3.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 619 units between Dec. 7 and Dec. 13 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.
It sold 289 units the week prior.
Microsoft this week released the Cartographer’s Gift REQ Pack for Halo 5: Guardians for the Xbox One.
The Cartographer’s Gift REQ Pack is a free download that includes Forge, new Arena and Warzone maps, weapons, armor, and emblems from prior Halo titles and new additions.
Microsoft this week said the Xbox One now offers backwards compatibility to Halo: Reach for the Xbox 360.
Additional Xbox 360 titles now backward compatible from the Xbox One include Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Fable III, Hydro Thunder, Ms. Pac-Man, Motocross Madness, and Zuma’s Revenge.
Mojang AB this week released Update 1.8.8 to Minecraft Console Editions.
The update includes new mobs, biomes, blocks, potions, all-new blocks like Granite, Red Sandstone, Prismarine and Slime, in addition to Blue Orchids, Sunflowers, and Tulips.
Finally the update includes Rabbits and Salmon, new biomes, Redwood Forests of Mega Taiga, the Roofed Forest, the Deep Ocean, Ocean Monuments and the Potion of Water Breathing for adventures with the Elder Guardians.
It is available now at no cost.
Capcom Co. this month released the Digital Costumes Pre-order Costumes Trailer for Resident Evil Zero.
The trailer features pre-order bonus costumes available to digital pre-order customers.
The digital pre-order is available at the Playstation Network, Xbox Live, and Steam at $19.99.
Pre-order customers will receive a bonus costume pack.
Microsoft this week said the Open Beta for Fable Legends for the Xbox One and the PC will be released in spring 2016.
The title, be sold for the Xbox One and Windows 10, will feature five-player, four vs. one, online functionality across both platforms.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 47,890 units between Dec. 7 and Dec. 13 to rank at No. 2 in overall sales.
It sold 32,604 units the week prior.
Splatoon ranked as the No. 3 best-selling software for the week.
Mojang AB this week released Minecraft: Wii U Edition for the Wii U at the Nintendo eShop division.
The title includes multiple add-on content packs and off-TV gameplay. Content packs include Battle & Beasts Skin Pack, Natural Texture Skin Pack, City Texture Pack, and the Fantasy Texture Pack.
In addition, users can purchase 16 additional add-on packs at launch.
Minecraft: Wii U Edition sells at $29.99.
Nintendo this week announced new DLC and amiibo figures for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
New characters include Cloud from Final Fantasy VII, new Chocobo hat for Mii Fighters, and Geno from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.
Cloud and the Midgar stage is available to download now for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U or 3DS at $5.99 each or both versions at $6.99.
DLC to launch in Feb. 2016 include Corrin from Fire Emblem Fates, Bayonetta, and Mii Fighter costumes for Knuckles and Tails.

Nintendo this week said it will release a new software update to Super Mario Maker for the Wii U Dec. 21.
The free software update will include new items like the Fire Koopa Clown Car, P Warp Doors and Bumper. In addition, pages will display the World Record for each course uploaded, and a web portal called Super Mario Maker Bookmark will allow users to bookmark courses from a computer, tablet, or mobile device for play later.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 112,828 units between Dec. 7 and Dec. 13 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.
The hardware sold 103,009 units the week prior.
Capcom Co.’s Monster Hunter X ranked as the No. 1 software for the week. It has sold two million units in the region to date.
