Microsoft this week released the new Xbox One Experience OS update.
The new Home screen allows users to scroll vertically to view a list of most recent games, contextual items, messages and friends.
A left tap initiates the Guide, a quick access menu to Profile, Friends, Party, Messages, Notifications, Settings, and Snap.
The new Xbox One OS is said to integrate the speed of Windows 10 to boot game features up to 50 percent faster.
Additional new features include the new Community section, revamped OneGuide, and an optimized Store.
Microsoft this week launched the Xbox 360 backwards compatibility function for the Xbox One.
The backwards compatibility function allows Xbox One owners to utilize their Xbox 360 retail discs to download the software to their Xbox One and play natively with new Xbox One functionality.

Nintendo this week released Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival to the Wii U.
The title is a board game that includes favorite Animal Crossing characters including Isabelle and Tom Nook.
Board games are based on the calendar including the four seasons and seasonal events.
The final game includes Happy Points that can be earned and saved amiibo and compatibility with new Animal Crossing amiibo cards.
Nintendo this week released the Green Yarn Yoshi amiibo for the Wii U to U.S. retail.
The amiibo will add another Yoshi to the game to assist the main player.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 30,383 units between Nov. 2 and Nov. 8 to rank as the No. 2 game hardware for the week.
The hardware sold 21,880 units the week prior.
The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes ranked as the No. 10
software for the week.
Atlus USA Inc. this week released Stella Glow for the Nintendo 3DS.
Stella Glow is a strategy RPG title that is said to include 40 to 60 hours of gameplay with sidequest content, New Game+ mode, and more than 50 battle maps.
Blizzard Entertainment Inc. this week released Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void to the PC.
Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void includes a single-player story, all new cooperative modes, and competitive multiplayer gameplay.
It is the conclusion to the Starcraft saga which began in 1998.
New modes include Archon Mode for two players to share control over a single base and units to compete against an enemy duo. In addition, Co-op Missions provide two-player objective-based missions, each with unique Commander abilities.
The final game includes new units and automated tournaments.
