Microsoft Corp. this week said customers who purchase Bethesda Game Studios’ Fallout 4 for the Xbox One will receive Fallout 3 for the Xbox 360 via Backwards Compatibility functionality Nov. 12.

In the offer, customers who purchase the Fallout 4 retail SKU, digital SKU, or the Xbox One Fallout 4 Bundle will receive a free copy of Fallout 3.

The Xbox One Backwards Compatibility function will allow Xbox One owners to utilize their Xbox 360 retail discs to download the software to their Xbox One and play natively with new Xbox One functionality.

Fallout 4Fallout 4 will include next-generation open-world gaming with new real-world building options, weapon customization features, and new PipBoy menu and game functionality.

The final game will include a new dog side character to help assist the main character.

It will be sold Nov. 10.
