Sales for Sony Corp.’s PS Vita ranked as the No. 2 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.
Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 15,998 units between Sept. 28 and Oct. 4 to rank as the No. 3 hardware for the week.
It sold 9,480 units the week prior.
Tokyo Xanadu ranked as the No. 1 software for the week selling 88,879 units at launch.
The PSP and PS Vita sold 600,000 units combined Q1.
The Sony Game and Network Services division, which includes the Playstation business, held an operating income of $160 million, an increase from $121 million the year prior.
