Sony Corp. this week said it will price cut the Playstation 4 hardware to $349.99 at U.S. retail Oct. 9.

Sony has sold 25.3 million PS4 units in Q1 2015 figures.

The Game and Network Services division, which includes the Playstation business, held an operating income of $160 million, an increase from $121 million the year prior.

The company cited cost-reductions to the PS4 hardware, and an increase in PS4 software and peripheral sales.
