Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 4,071 units between Sept. 21 to Sept. 27 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 8,375 units the week prior.

The Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain PS4 SKU ranked as the No. 10 software for the week selling 15,158 units for the week.

Sony this week released System Software Update v3.00 for the Playstation 4.

System Software Update v3.00 includes an online storage increase from 1GB to 10GB for Playstation Plus members, YouTube Live functionality to livestream PS4 gameplay to YouTube, new Events hub to keep track of activities for related games, Favorite Groups to access groups of frequent friends, Communities to create communities based on shared interests, the function to share video clips to Twitter, Stickers to send images to friends, an updated Now Playing / What’s New screen, and a Request to Watch option to start a live broadcast or Share Play invitation.

Sony this week previewed new titles to Playstation Plus members for the Playstation 4 in the month of Oct.

New titles include Super Meat Boy and Broken Age.

Capcom Co. this week announced Zangief to the fight roster Street Fighter V for the Playstation 4 and the PC.

The franchise wrestler will include the Iron Muscle V-Skill to absorb one attack with recoverable health and a possible counter attack. The V-Trigger is a Cyclone Lariat to spin and hit the opponent multiple times.

Sony this week released the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection demo for the Playstation 4 to the Playstation Network division.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, to be sold Oct. 9, will include Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception at 1080p resolution and 60 frames-per-second graphics fidelity.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 9,480 units between Sept. 21 and Sept. 27 to rank as the No. 4 hardware for the week.

It sold 11,708 units the week prior.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 ranked as the No. 20 best-selling software for the week selling 5,765 units at launch.

Atlus Inc. this week released Persona 4: Dancing All Night for the PS Vita.

Persona 4: Dancing All Night is a story-driven music game that takes place after the events of Persona 4. In the game, The Shadows can only be defeated by dance.

The final game includes 25 full songs and a fully-voiced story mode.

Sony this week released the PS Vita 3.55 System Software Update.

The update includes the option to adjust video resolution when using the PS4 Link Remote Play.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 232 units between Sept. 21 and Sept. 27 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 737 units the week prior.

Microsoft this week said it will release the Xbox One Fallout 4 Bundle in Nov. to U.S. retail.

The Xbox One Fallout 4 Bundle will include the Xbox One 1TB hardware, Fallout 4 and the Fallout 3 game download at $399.99.

Microsoft this week said it will release the Xbox One 1TB Holiday Bundle in Oct. to U.S. retail.

The bundle will include the Xbox One 1TB hardware, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Rare Replay, and Ori and the Blind Forest game download at $399.99.

Activision Blizzard Inc. this week released the Story Trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops III.

The trailer previews the Campaign mode from the final game.

Microsoft this week said it will release the Xbox One 1TB Tomb Raider Bundle in Nov. to U.S. retail.

The bundle will include the Xbox One 1TB hardware, Rise of the Tomb Raider download code, Tomb Raider Definitive Edition download code, and Tactical Survival Kit DLC at $399.99.

2K Games this week released NBA 2K16 to U.S. retail.

NBA 2K16 includes MyPLAYER functionality to control an NBA franchise, enhanced animation and improved controls.

The final game includes a career experience written, directed and produced by Spike Lee.

Microsoft this week said it will release the Xbox One 500GB The Lego Movie Bundle in Oct. to U.S. retail.

The bundle will include the Xbox One 500GB hardware and a copy of The Lego Movie Video Game at $349.99.

Microsoft this week said it will release the Xbox One 500GB Gears of War Bundle exclusively to Wal-Mart Stores Inc. stores in Nov.

The bundle will include the Xbox One 500GB Cirrus White hardware, Gears of War Ultimate Edition game download and Gears of War 4 Beta early access at $349.99.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked second in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 18,024 units between Sept. 21 and Sept. 27 to rank at No. 2 in overall sales.

It sold 16,033 units the week prior.

Super Mario Maker ranked as the No. 1 software for the week selling 52,396 units at launch.

Nintendo this week said Super Mario Maker for the Wii has sold 1 million units at global retail.

In addition, users have created more than 2.2 million Super Mario courses which have been played 75 million times.

The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 29,110 units between Sept. 21 and Sept. 27 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 26,739 units the week prior.

Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon ranked as the No. 2 software for the week selling 44,555 units at launch.

Nintendo this week said it will release Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash for the Wii U Nov. 20.

The title will include franchise characters including Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser and Toad in enhanced power-up tennis matches.

Apple Inc. this week said the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus SKUs sold 13 million units in first-weekend data from global retail.

By comparison, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus sold 10 million units in the first weekend of availability.

The product will be sold in an additional 40 countries Oct. 9.

Apple this week released iOS 9.0.2 to iOS devices.

Update 9.0.2 includes bug fixes and improvements including a fix to turn on or off cell data usage, iMessage activation prevention, iCloud backup interruption, after manual backup, incorrect screen rotation amid notification, and Podcast stability improvement.
