Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 4 ranked as the No. 1 hardware in Japan in the latest data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported the PS4 sold 8,375 units between Sept.14 to Sept. 20 to rank No. 2 in overall hardware sales.

It sold 18,555 units the week prior.

The Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain PS4 SKU ranked as the No. 6 software for the week selling 20,635 units for the week.

Sales for the PS Vita ranked as the No. 4 video game hardware in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month said the PS Vita sold 9,480 units between Sept. 14 and Sept. 20 to rank as the No. 4 hardware for the week.

It sold 11,708 units the week prior.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 ranked as the No. 10 best-selling software for the week selling 15,932 units at launch.

Sony this week said it will release a new Playstation 4 1TB bundle that includes Activision Blizzard Inc.’s Call of Duty: Black Ops III Nov. 6 to U.S. retail.

The PS4 1TB Call of Duty: Black Ops III Bundle will include the custom PS4 1TB console, custom Dualshock 4 Wireless Controller, a copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops III, and bonus NUK3TOWN multiplayer map at $449.99.

Sony this month said it will release the Multiplayer Beta for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End for the Playstation 4 in Dec.

The Multiplayer Beta, from Dec. 4 to Dec. 13, will be available to customers who purchase Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.

Retailer Amazon.com Inc. this week began selling a bundle that includes the Playstation 4 500GB Destiny: The Taken King Limited Edition Bundle and Konami Corp.’s Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain at under $400.

The bundle includes the custom Destiny PS4 500GB SKU, Destiny: The Taken King physical copy, and upgrade to the Digital Collector’s Edition, and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain at $399.99.

Bandai Namco Games America Inc. this week began pre-order sales for Tales of Zestiria for the Playstation 4 and Playstation 3 at the Playstation Network division.

The Tales of Zestiria PS4 SKU digital pre-order sells at $59.99. The PS3 SKU sells at $49.99.

Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One hardware ranked at No. 6 in Japan in the latest retail data from the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Xbox One sold 737 units between Sept. 14 and Sept. 20 to rank No. 6 in overall sales.

It sold 207 units the week prior.

Microsoft this week previewed Xbox Live Games with Gold for the Xbox One and the Xbox 360 in Oct.

In Oct., the Xbox One will offer Valiant Hearts: The Great War from Oct. 1st to 31st and The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season from Oct. 16th to Nov. 15th.

The Xbox 360 will offer Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Oct. 1st to the 15th and Crysis 3 Oct. 16th to the 31th.

Activision Blizzard Inc. this week said Call of Duty: Black Ops III for the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 will not include a Campaign mode.

The company said the new 1-4 player co-op campaign could not be recreated on old generation hardware.

The final game will include Multiplayer and Zombies modes.

Microsoft this week released the Blue Team Opening Cinematic Trailer for Halo 5: Guardians for the Xbox One.

The trailer features the opening cinematic the Halo 5: Guardians second mission, Blue Team.

Halo 5: Guardians, to be sold Oct. 27, is the next installment of the franchise to include Master Chief.

EA Inc. this week said it will release the Multiplayer Beta for Star Wars Battlefront Oct. 8.

The beta, from Oct. 8 to Oct. 12, will feature Walker Assault on Hoth, a 40-player battle between the Rebels and the Empire; Drop Zone on Sullust, an eight vs. eight battle to control Escape Pods; and Survival Mission on Tatooine, a co-op online or offline battle to hold of Imperial forces waves.

Sales for Nintendo Co.’s Wii U hardware ranked second in Japan in the latest sales data for the region.

Media Create Co. this month reported that the Wii U sold 16,033 units between Sept. 14 and Sept. 20 to rank at No. 2 in overall sales.

It sold 20,891 units the week prior.

Super Mario Maker ranked as the No. 2 software for the week selling 54,544 units at launch.

The Super Mario Maker for the Wii ranked as the best-selling download title at the Nintendo eShop this week.

This week, Super Mario Maker ranked as the No. 1 download across all platforms at the Nintendo eShop division.

Super Mario Maker allows users to create custom Mario levels, including classic 8-bit Super Mario Bros. levels and New Super Mario Bros. U levels.


The Nintendo 3DS ranked as the No. 2 hardware in Japan in the latest sales data from the territory.

Media Create Co. this month said the Nintendo 3DS sold 26,739 units between Sept. 14 and Sept. 20 to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the week.

The hardware sold 27,829 units the week prior.

Nintendo this week released the new Nintendo 3DS Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Bundle.

The bundle includes the new Nintendo 3DS, Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer download code, two cover plates and one amiibo card at $219.99.

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer is compatible with new amiibo cards and the NFC reader/writer accessory for the Nintendo 2DS, Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS XL.

Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon ranked as the No. 2 software for the week selling 59,456 units at launch.

Namco Bandai Games America Inc. this month announced new characters for Project X Zone 2 for the Nintendo 3DS.

New characters include Chrom and Lucina from Fire Emblem, and KOS-MOS from Xenosaga.

Developed by Banpresto and Monolith Soft, Project X Zone 2 is a strategy RPG that features characters from Namco Bandai, Sega Corp., and Capcom Co. franchises.

Microsoft this week said Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition will support Oculus Rift.

Oculus Rift will allow Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition users to play in Creative or Survival Mode in full 3D.

Oculus Rift is a virtual reality head-mounted display developed by Oculus VR.

It will be sold in Q1 2016.

Apple Inc. this week released the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus SKUs to global retail.

The iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, to be sold Sept. 25, will include a 64-bit A9 CPU with M9, 7000 series aluminum body, 2nd-generation Touch ID, 12MP iSight camera, 4K video functionality, 5MP Facetime HD with Retina Flash and Live Photos functionality.

The iPhone 6 16GB SKU sells at $199, 64GB at $299 and 128GB at $399 with two-year service contract.

The iPhone 6S 16GB SKU sells at $299, 64GB at $399 and 128GB at $499 with two-year service contract.
