Microsoft Corp. this month released the Sept. update to the Windows 10 Xbox app.

The Sept. update includes the Real-time Friends List, Real-time Activity Feed updates, Game Progress Comparison, and Console Text Entry to use the Xbox app for text input on Xbox One.

Windows 10, which deployed July 29, is free for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users.

The Windows 10 OS includes support for DirectX 12, offers improved scaling for 4K monitors, includes the option to DVR games, stream Xbox One games, offers select cross-platform functionality for games and parties, includes Achievements, offers native controller support, and offers faster boot times.
