Apple inc. this week said pre-order sales for the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus SKUs are set to pass last year’s 10-million-unit record in first-weekend demand.
Pre-order sales began Sept. 12 and quickly sold out at the Apple online store and network carriers. Shipment times for new orders now stand at three to four weeks for select SKUs.
The iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, to be sold Sept. 25, will include a 64-bit A9 CPU with M9, 7000 series aluminum body, 2nd-generation Touch ID, 12MP iSight camera, 4K video functionality, 5MP Facetime HD with Retina Flash and Live Photos functionality.
The iPhone 6 16GB SKU will sell at $199, 64GB at $299 and 128GB at $399 with two-year service contract.
The iPhone 6S 16GB SKU will sell at $299, 64GB at $399 and 128GB at $499 with two-year service contract.
