Microsoft Corp. this week previewed the Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta and Minecraft: Pocket Edition 0.12.1 update.

The new update includes cross-platform multiplayer for up to five players on a local network between Minecraft: Pocket Edition and Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta users. In addition, the update adds five player online functionality to the Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta via Xbox Live.

MinecraftMinecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta includes eight-player local and online craft functionality, multiple input support, and GameDVR functionality to record and share gameplay.

Minecraft PC owners can download the Windows 10 Edition Beta at no cost.

Customers can purchase the Minecraft Windows 10 Edition Beta at $10 during the beta period and will receive all updates at no additional cost.
